Auditory–Tactile Congruence for Synthesis of Adaptive Pain Expressions in RoboPatients
In this work, we explore auditory–tactile congruence for synthesizing adaptive vocal pain expressions in robopatients. Using a robopatient platform that integrates vocal pain sounds with palpation forces, we conducted 7680 trials across 20 participants.

Utterances as Signals for Sharing Tacit Images in Collective Interaction
In ball games, individuals collaborate to enhance their team's performance by sharing images and ideas that have not been verbalized. One of a coach's roles is to ascertain whether players share a common understanding of their team's images so as to ...

Multimodal Human–Robot Interaction Using Human Pose Estimation and Local Large Language Models
A multimodal human–robot interaction framework integrates human pose estimation (HPE) and a large language model (LLM) for gesture‐ and voice‐based robot control. Speech‐to‐text (STT) enables voice command interpretation, while a safety‐aware arbitration mechanism prioritizes gesture input for rapid intervention.

Under colitis, Gsdmd mediates the release of IL‐33 from the epithelium of pregnant mice. IL‐33 can cross the placenta and enhance the proliferative capacity of neural stem cells, ultimately resulting in behavioral deficits in the offspring. Excessive pyroptosis in the colonic epithelium also triggers the translocation of LPS, which in turn increases ...

Topologically Structured PLLA Fibers With Stress Concentration Effects for Health Monitoring
In this study, a multi‐path strategy was developed to enhance the piezoelectric properties of PLLA fibers through the stress concentration effect. The optimized devices generate piezoelectric output up to 14 times that of pure PLLA fibers. This piezoelectric enhancement strategy offers a new approach for high‐performance piezoelectric devices, with ...

An Analysis of the Short Utterance Problem for Speaker Characterization
Speaker characterization has always been conditioned by the length of the evaluated utterances. Despite performing well with large amounts of audio, significant degradations in performance are obtained when short utterances are considered.
