Improved Microdetermination for Diphenylhydantoin in Blood by UV Spectrophotometry
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1973A modification of the UV spectrophotometric method proposed by Wallace for the determination of diphenylhydantoin in blood samples is described. Improvement of the Wallace method was made possible by changing various reaction conditions, including oxidation time, and by determining the diphenylhydantoin oxidation product using an appropriately expanded

Detection of Benzoylecgonine in Urine by Means of UV Spectrophotometry
Journal of Analytical Toxicology, 1983A simple and reliable method has been developed for the detection of benzoylecgonine in urine by UV spectrophotometry. Benzoylecgonine was isolated by liquid-liquid extraction and subsequently identified based on its hydrolysis by NaOH. The decrease in absorbance at 235 nm caused by this NaOH hydrolysis was used to identify benzoylecgonine even in the ...

Hydroxyl Radicals quantification by UV spectrophotometry
Electrochimica Acta, 2014Abstract Hydroxilation of aromatic compounds is an oxidative process that has been employed as indirect method to quantify the produced hydroxyl radicals during an advanced oxidation process ( ● OH). This is usually complicated by the radical high reactivity and short life time and therefore a scavenging agent such as salicylic acid is commonly ...

Determination of organic matter in grinding sludges by UV spectrophotometry
Environmental Technology, 2003The aim of this paper is to determinate the total organic matter content of grinding sludges by a simple and fast methodology based on a solvent extraction followed by a UV spectrophotometry analysis. Several UV spectra exploitation methods are used. The multiwavelength deconvolution procedure provides quantitative results in good accordance with those

TOC versus UV spectrophotometry for wastewater quality monitoring
Talanta, 1999Total organic carbon (TOC) is one of the most important parameter for the knowledge of water and wastewater quality, because it concerns theoretically all organic compounds. Unfortunately, some restrictions with respect to TOC measurement must be considered, explaining that alternative procedures have been envisaged, among which UV spectrophotometry ...

[The determination of Niphensamide by UV spectrophotometry].
Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2004In this paper Uv spectrophotometry was used to determine Niphensamide. In this method, 372 +/- 1 nm was selected as a criterion for quantitative determination, and the absorptivity. E1 cm 1% = 556. The results indicated that a better linear-relationship between the absorbance and the concentration of the sample. When the concentration was ranged from 0.

Determination of Phenothiazine Compounds in Biologic Specimens by UV Spectrophotometry
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1971A UV spectrophotometric technique for specific determination of drugs that have the phenothiazine group as part of their molecular structure was developed. The method utilizes the oxidation capability of the cobalt (III) ion. The phenothiazines and their sulfoxide metabolites are oxidized to a product that is stable in a hexane-tertiary butanol mixture.

Quantitative assay of biosolubilized coal by UV-spectrophotometry
Biotechnology Techniques, 1995A simple method of UV-spectrophotometric assay for biosolubilized coals was developed. An optimum wavelength for the assay was found to be in the range of 430 to 470 nm. An acid precipitation step must be included in order to remove microbial metabolites and media components before the assay.

Using UV spectrophotometry to analyze peritoneal dialyzate
Journal of Optical Technology, 2004The extinction spectra of peritoneal dialyzate have been investigated in the wavelength region 200-400 nm. Correlation relationships are established between the extinction of the dialysate and the concentration of the main components: uric acid and creatinine.
