Comparison of Different UV-activated AOP Methods

Journal of Advanced Oxidation Technologies, 2013
AbstractIn this study the photonic efficiency of different UV activated AOP methods are compared in regard to the oxidation of the dye p-nitrosodimethylaniline (RNO).

Methods of Assessing Efficiency of UV-Protecting Products

International Journal of Occupational Safety and Ergonomics, 2002
A few aspects of skin protection against ultraviolet (UV) light and methods of assessing efficacy of UV-protecting cream or gels have been discussed. UV-protection in cream and gels is not only a strategy of the cosmetic industry but a necessity because of human occupational activity and daily habits.

Dosimetry Methods for UV Radiation

Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 1997
The main source of ultraviolet radiation is the sun, and individual habits with respect to sun exposure are important in assessing personal risk associated with ultraviolet radiation exposure. Ultraviolet radiation from other sources may contribute significantly to certain people's exposure.

UV Protection by Clothing

Health Physics, 1997
In an attempt to reduce the incidence of skin cancer, cancer foundations have run educational campaigns which encourage the general population to limit their solar UVR exposures. An important part of these campaigns, in particular in Australia, but also more recently in Europe and the U.S., has been the adoption of protective measures such as ...

A method to estimate the UV content of illumination sources

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
Where an illumination source includes flux in the UV region, an estimate of the total flux in the UV can be derived from the fluorescent efficacy of a reference material and the fluorescent emission from the material. A correlate of fluorescent efficiency was derived using a triangular weighting function in the fluorescent emission region and the flux ...

Propagation over terrain and urban environment using the multilevel UV method and a hybrid UV/SDFMM method

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2004
Propagation over terrain and urban environments are studied using 2D simulations of Maxwell equations. For the case of terrain propagation, the multilevel UV method is used to accelerate the method of moments (MoM) solution. We consider propagation over a region of 14.42 km at 1,500 MHz that has 720,896 MoM surface unknowns.

Comparison of Methods: Determination of UV Protection of Clothing

2002
Based on spectrophotometric measurements and mathematical calculations, the ultraviolet (UV) protection factor of a textile is determined in vitro. This technique is the most established test method for the determination of UV protection of a garment.

UV laser methods and measurements

2015
The ARGONTUBE UV laser system is a versatile instrument not only to infer information about the electric field, but also to measure the level of impurities present in the system. A good knowledge of the latter is required for the reconstruction of calorimetric information as the attenuation by electron attachment must be compensated for.

Validated UV Spectroscopic Method for Determination of Domperidone in Bulk and Pharmaceutical Formulation UV Spectroscopic Method

Research Journal of Pharmacy and Technology
The aim of this research paper was to develop a simple, sensitive, rapid, accurate and economical Ultra Violet spectrophotometric method for the estimation of Domperidone. Various analytical parameters such as linearity, range, precision, accuracy, limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were determined according International ...

Standardization of Methods for Fluence (UV Dose) Determination in Bench-Scale UV Experiments

Journal of Environmental Engineering, 2003
Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection is now an accepted technology for inactivation of a variety of waterborne pathogens in wastewater and drinking water. However, the techniques used in much of the previous research aimed at providing information on UV effectiveness have not yet been standardized.
