Correlation, entropy, and information transfer in black hole radiation
Since the discovery of Hawking radiation, its consistency with quantum theory has been widely questioned. In the widely described picture, irrespective of what initial state a black hole starts with before collapsing, it eventually evolves into a thermal

CONSIDERATIONS CONCERNING THE INFLUENCE OF UV RADIATIONS ON THE BODY [PDF]
This paper shows how the association between ultraviolet light (UV) and the diseases produced by the human body. There is strong evidence that exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UVR) is associated with malignancy of basal cell carcinoma, photokeratitis ...

Optical structure and function of the white filamentary hair covering the edelweiss bracts
The optical properties of the inflorescence of the high-altitude ''Leontopodium nivale'' subsp. ''alpinum'' (edelweiss) is investigated, in relation with its submicrometer structure, as determined by scanning electron microscopy.

EFFECT OF UV IRRADIATION ON THE DYEING OF COTTON FABRIC WITH REACTIVE BLUE 204 [PDF]
Reactive dyes are synthetic organic compounds used on a wide scale in textile industry, for painting materials of different types and compositions (e.g. 100% cotton, wool, natural satin, viscose, synthetic fibres).

Effects of Gamma Ray Bursts in Earth Biosphere
We continue former work on the modeling of potential effects of Gamma Ray Bursts on Phanerozoic Earth. We focus on global biospheric effects of ozone depletion and show a first modeling of the spectral reduction of light by NO2 formed in the stratosphere.

Localized ultraviolet laser microbeam irradiation of early Drosophila embryos: Fate maps based on location and frequency of adult defects [PDF]
Drosophila embryos were locally irradiated with a 257-nm laser microbeam during blastoderm and germ band stages. Depending on stage and beam diameter (10–30 μm), from 0 to 45 nuclei were exposed to the uv radiation.

UV Radiation and the Skin [PDF]
UV radiation (UV) is classified as a “complete carcinogen” because it is both a mutagen and a non-specific damaging agent and has properties of both a tumor initiator and a tumor promoter. In environmental abundance, UV is the most important modifiable risk factor for skin cancer and many other environmentally-influenced skin disorders.
