Trends in Biotechnology, 2015
Plant and algae photoreceptors that are sensitive to blue and red wavelengths have recently paved the way for the development of optogenetic tools [1]. These tools allow the manipulation and control of cellular signaling pathways with great specificity and fine spatial and temporal precision.

UVB Photosensitivity due to Ranitidine
Dermatology, 2000We describe a 62-year-old male with photosensitivity due to ranitidine. An oral challenge test after taking ranitidine with UVB irradiation was positive. Ranitidine-induced UVB photosensitivity was persistent even after cessation of the medication.

The effects of UVB irradiance on vitiligo phototherapy and UVB‐induced photocarcinogenesis
Photodermatology, Photoimmunology & Photomedicine, 2020AbstractPhototherapy is the most commonly used modality for repigmenting vitiligo. Currently, UVB emitting devices, including narrow‐band UVB (NBUVB) and excimer laser/light, are considered as the treatment of choice. While emitting wavelengths at close proximity, excimer lights emit higher irradiance (HI; W/m2) compared to NBUVB. Clinical reports have

Phototherapie (UVB/Schmalspektrum UVB/UVA)

UVB phototherapy of atopic dermatitis
British Journal of Dermatology, 1988UVB phototherapy of atopic dermatitis was investigated in two paired-comparison studies. In study I, 17 patients were treated for 8 weeks with ultraviolet B radiation (UVB) on one half of the body and with visible light (placebo) on the other. A severity score based on eight clinical variables was determined before, during and after treatment.

Paediatric psoriasis – narrowband UVB treatment
Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, 2010AbstractNarrowband UV‐B is a safe and efficacious option for the treatment of adult psoriasis. However, the use of this therapy has been limited in children due to its long‐term carcinogenic potential. It has proven to be an adequate alternative in patients whose condition is refractory to topical treatment.Aims To evaluate the efficacy and short‐term

Chlorogenic Acid UVA–UVB Photostability
Photochemistry and Photobiology, 2010AbstractChlorogenic acid is a natural potent antioxidant. It can be used in cosmetics formulations, but for this purpose its photochemical stability should be determined to ensure that the compound will not be degraded after UV radiation exposure. To evaluate this possibility, the concentration of a chlorogenic acid solution was determined by HPLC ...

UVB Maintenance Phototherapy in Psoriasis
International Journal of Dermatology, 1985Abstract: Twenty‐six patients with generalized stable plaque‐type psoriasis were treated three to five times weekly with midwave fluorescent ultraviolet radiation (UVB) combined with either tar or lubricants. After clearing, patients received maintenance treatment with lubricant and UVB for a minimum of four weekly exposures, which were subsequently ...

Photoageing: the role of UVB, solar-simulated UVB, visible and psoralen UVA radiation
British Journal of Dermatology, 1986We have studied the morphological and histological effects of chronic exposure of two strains of haired mice (albino Balb/c and pigmented C3H-) to various types of radiation. UVB (280-320 nm) radiation from unfiltered sunlamp bulbs for 20 and 30 weeks produced marked epidermal acanthosis and dyskeratosis which was reversible in mice exposed for 20 ...

Combined UVA-UVB versus UVB phototherapy for atopic dermatitis: A paired-comparison study
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 1990In a paired-comparison study 30 patients with atopic dermatitis underwent treatment with a combination of UVA and UVB radiation (UVAB) on one side of the body and UVB on the other. Treatment was administered three times a week for a maximum of 8 weeks. Each patient was evaluated with respect to eight effect variables.
