Accidental plant poisonings in France: Lessons from a decade of national toxicovigilance

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Accidental plant poisonings reveal how modern societies are losing everyday botanical knowledge once central to food and health safety. By analyzing a decade of French toxicovigilance data, this study shows that most severe cases arise from plant misidentification or misguided self‐medication.

Comparison of Gene Enrichment Between Prostate Tissue and Urine for Non‐Invasive Biomarker Development

open access: yesThe Prostate, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background For prostate cancer (PCa), early diagnosis and biomarker‐based patient stratification can improve clinical decision‐making and post‐treatment prognosis. PCa biomarkers are best validated in tissue following comprehensive histopathologic review; however, urinary biomarkers can be obtained non‐invasively and are therefore safer and ...

Single and dual RPA‐CRISPR/Cas assays for point‐of‐need detection of Stewart's wilt pathogen (Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii) of corn and Maize dwarf mosaic virus

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1988-1999, April 2025.
Schematic diagram of the single and dual RPA‐CRISPR/Cas12a/13a diagnostic assays for the detection of Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii and Maize dwarf mosaic virus. The validated assays provide a useful and sensitive molecular tool for detecting two quarantine pathogens of maize within a minimal resource framework suitable for fast‐tracking the ...

Phytochemicals as Multitarget Therapeutics in Pancreatic Cancer: Mechanisms, Clinical Evidence, and Translational Challenges

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
Pancreatic cancer, particularly pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, is aggressive and often diagnosed late, making treatment challenging. This review highlights the potential of phytochemicals, such as curcumin and quercetin, as multitarget agents that influence key carcinogenic pathways. These compounds exhibit anticancer effects by inhibiting processes

National Policy Coherence Counts for Reducing Inequality in Global Climate and Development Agendas

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT International institutions promote policy coherence as crucial to the effective and fair implementation of global sustainability agendas, though the evidence for its benefits is slim. We present here the first systematic cross‐country dataset on the consequences of national government efforts to promote policy coherence for vulnerable groups ...

The Role of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in Modulating Autonomic Dysfunction in Irritable Bowel Syndrome rTMS for IBS Autonomic Dysfunction

open access: yesSensory Neuroscience, EarlyView.
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is associated with dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system and altered brain–gut communication. rTMS may alleviate IBS symptoms by modulating central autonomic and pain‐processing networks, potentially restoring sympathovagal balance and reducing visceral hypersensitivity.

P,N,S‐Co‐Doped Red‐Emissive Carbon Dots for Microenvironment‐Sensitive Organelle Imaging and Monitoring Cellular Redox Processes

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Phosphorus‐, nitrogen‐, and sulfur‐co‐doped red‐emissive carbon dots (PNS‐R‐CDs) enable ON–OFF–ON ClO−/GSH redox sensing and microenvironment‐responsive subnuclear imaging, providing a versatile fluorescent nanoplatform for monitoring localized oxidative stress and intracellular heterogeneity.

A lysosome‐targeted ultra‐sensitive viscosity probe for monitoring viscosity alterations during chemotherapy

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
A novel chemosensing platform based on a molecular rotor architecture is established for specific, dynamic detection of lysosomal viscosity. The platform allows real‐time tracking of lysosomal viscosity fluctuations induced by various chemotherapeutic agents, highlighting its significant potential as a powerful tool for early cancer diagnostics and ...

A pH‐Responsive fluorescence lifetime probe reveals GOT1 phase separation in cellular anti‐senescence

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
Acidic pH triggers GOT1 phase separation via IDR1, recruiting ME1 to form ROS‐scavenging condensates that combat senescence, revealed by a FLIM‐based pH probe. Abstract Cellular senescence involves progressive acidification, but how cells sense and adapt to this pH shift remains unclear.

Merger Efficiency and Coordinated Effects: Nothing to Sneeze at? Evidence From Cough and Cold Medicines in the Philippines

open access: yesSouthern Economic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We investigate the competitive effects of a merger in the cough and cold medicines segment between GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Pfizer. The parties offered efficiency gains, and authorities concluded the merger would not lessen competition. Using product‐level data from the Philippines, we estimate a structural demand model to assess efficiency ...
