Catalytic Amyloids: Turning Fibrils Into Biocatalysts
Amyloids, traditionally associated with diseases, have emerged as versatile catalytic scaffolds. From natural amyloid sequences to bioinspired and de novo designs, we highlight strategies to construct catalytic active sites and anchor enzymes onto fibrils, creating versatile nanomaterials with tunable activities. ABSTRACT Amyloids have been regarded as

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT HOG CHOLERA [PDF]
I. WHAT IS HOG CHOLERA? Hog cholera is a deadly, contagious disease that attacks swine only. The disease is caused by hog cholera virus, an agent so small (1/250,000 of an inch) that it can even pass through a fine porcelain filter.

Abstract Background African horse sickness (AHS), caused by the vector‐borne African horse sickness virus (AHSV), is endemic to sub‐Saharan Africa and infection results in high mortality in naïve equine populations. Clinical signs include submucosal petechiae and prolonged bleeding post venepuncture indicative of hypocoagulation.

Engineered probiotics secretes fusion proteins which potentially neutralized the toxins secreted by other microbial communities. ABSTRACT On a global scale, the escalating burden of infectious diseases, predominantly attributed to bacterial pathogens, especially drug‐resistant strains, has progressed into a critical concern for clinical management and ...

Protein Energy Malnutrition: Opportunities for Cold Plasma Technologies
Protein energy malnutrition (PEM) is a major global health concern driven by biological, environmental, and nutritional factors, including gut microbiota imbalance and low protein intake. Cold atmospheric plasma technologies offer promising, sustainable solutions by improving food security, enhancing protein quality and absorption, and modulating gut ...

Abstract Deficiency in DNA mismatch repair (dMMR) is a common pathway of carcinogenesis across different tumor types and confers a characteristic microsatellite instability‐high (MSI‐H) molecular phenotype. The MSI‐H/dMMR phenotype may arise from an inherited pathogenic variant in the context of Lynch syndrome and is most frequently observed in ...

Supra and subgingival application of antiseptics or antibiotics during periodontal therapy
Abstract Periodontal diseases (gingivitis and periodontitis) are characterized by inflammatory processes which arise as a result of disruption of the balance in the oral ecosystem. According to the current S3 level clinical practice guidelines, therapy of patients with periodontitis involves a stepwise approach that includes the control of the patient ...
