Considerations for the clinical use of teplizumab in stage 2 Type 1 diabetes: A Consensus Statement from the British Society of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED) and the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD)

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction In 2025, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) approved the use of teplizumab (a monoclonal anti‐CD3 antibody) to delay progression from Stage 2 to Stage 3 Type 1 diabetes in the UK. Methods To address the need for clear guidance on managing patients eligible for teplizumab therapy, the British Society of ...

Gamma‐irradiated Newcastle disease virus: an alternative inactivated oncolytic virotherapy

open access: yesImmunology &Cell Biology, EarlyView.
To overcome biological risks associated with using live NDV as an oncolytic therapy, we developed gamma‐NDV as a safer alternative. Using a murine model for skin cancer, we show that intratumor administration of gamma‐NDV outperformed live‐NDV in terms of reducing tumor growth and improving overall animal survival. Abstract Newcastle disease virus (NDV)

Vectors and Vector‐Borne Diseases: Biology, Epidemiology and Integrated Control Strategies

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Vector‐Borne Diseases (VBDs), transmitted by arthropods such as mosquitoes, ticks, fleas and sandflies, represent a significant threat to global health. These diseases can be caused by a variety of pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and helminths.

A Formalin‐Inactivated Vaccine Enhances Survival and Mitigates Horizontal Transmission of Red Sea Bream Iridovirus (RSIV) in Rock Bream (Oplegnathus fasciatus): Insights From Viability Quantitative PCR

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Formalin‐inactivated vaccines are widely employed as a primary preventive strategy against red sea bream iridoviral disease (RSIVD), which poses a substantial economic threat to the aquaculture of rock bream (Oplegnathus fasciatus). However, conventional quantitative PCR (qPCR) cannot differentiate infectious virions from noninfectious vaccine
