The Unruh Vacuum and the “In-Vacuum” in Reissner-Nordström Spacetime

open access: yesUniverse, 2023
The Unruh vacuum is widely used as a quantum state to describe black hole evaporation since, near the horizon, it reproduces the physical state of a quantum field, the so-called “in-vacuum”, in the case where a black hole is formed by gravitational collapse.

HYDRODYNAMICS OF THE VACUUM [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2006
Hydrodynamics is the appropriate "effective theory" for describing any fluid medium at sufficiently long length scales. This paper treats the vacuum as such a medium and derives the corresponding hydrodynamic equations. Unlike a normal medium the vacuum has no linear sound-wave regime; disturbances always "propagate" nonlinearly.

Investigating steam penetration using thermometric methods in dental handpieces with narrow internal lumens during sterilizing processes with non-vacuum or vacuum processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Dental handpieces are required to be sterilized between patient use. Vacuum steam sterilization processes with fractionated pre/post-vacuum phases or unique cycles for specified medical devices, are required for hollow instruments with ...

On Vacuum Integration [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics of Particles and Nuclei Letters, 2021
The effective potential is known to be given by the vacuum diagrams. In this paper we show that the massive loop integrations corresponding to the vacuum diagrams can be expressed through the massless loop integrations with the corresponding massive prefactor provided the special treatment of $δ(0)$-singularity.

New Vacuum Electronic Devices for Radar

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2016
Vacuum Electronic Devices (VEDs) which are considered as the heart of a radar system, play an important role in their development. VEDs and radar systems supplement and promote each other.

Design of an ultrashort H‐plane coupler without transition structure for sheet beam traveling‐wave tube amplifier at W‐band

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2023
An ultrashort H‐plane sheet beam traveling‐wave tube (SB‐TWT) coupler without transition structure is proposed. The coupler adopts a new idea of directly coupling the microwave from H‐plane of the slow‐wave circuit (SWC) and optimizes the matching by ...

Vacuuming the Periplasm [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 2005
Ever since their discovery multidrug resistance (MDR) transporters have provided a plethora of fascinating and challenging topics for fundamental and applied research. Recognized first as a cause of resistance of tumor cells to anticancer agents (reviewed in reference 5), they were later discovered in all living organisms, from bacteria to humans.

Experimental Comparison of the Single-Event Effects of Single-Photon and Two-Photon Absorption under a Pulsed Laser

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The pulsed laser has gradually become the standard method of studying the single-event effects of micro-nano devices, and it is a powerful supplement to heavy ion experiments on single-event effects.

Two-pion contribution to hadronic vacuum polarization [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
A bstractWe present a detailed analysis of e+e− → π+π− data up to s=1$$ \sqrt{s}=1 $$ GeV in the framework of dispersion relations. Starting from a family of ππ P-wave phase shifts, as derived from a previous Roy-equation analysis of ππ scattering, we ...
