Field emission properties of nano-composite carbon nitride films
A modified cathodic arc technique has been used to deposit carbon nitride thin films directly on n+ Si substrates. Transmission Electron Microscopy showed that clusters of fullerene-like nanoparticles are embedded in the deposited material.

Fabrication and Research of Superhard (Zr–Ti–Cr–Nb)N Coatings [PDF]
This work presents the results of (Zr–Ti–Cr–Nb)N superhard coatings research. The samples were fabricated by the vacuum-arc deposition method (Arc-PVD). Structure, composition and properties of these coatings were studied.

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

Effect of double vacuum melting and retained austenite on rolling-element fatigue life of AMS 5749 bearing steel [PDF]
AMS 5749 steel combines the tempering, hot hardness, and hardness retention characteristics of AISI M-50 steel with the corrosion and oxidation resistance of AISI 440C stainless steel. The five-ball fatigue tester was used to evaluate the rolling-element

Modeling and numerical simulation of anode activity and arc motion in a transverse magnetic field
Vacuum interrupters based on transverse magnetic field contacts now are widely used in medium voltage circuit breakers. The arc motion under the transverse magnetic field (TMF) plays a decisive role in the interruption.
