Drying Behaviors of Mint Leaves in Vacuum Freeze Drying
In this study, the drying behavior of mint which is one of the medicinal plants in freeze-drying was investigated. The products were dried at three different temperatures (40, 50, 60oC) and three different pressures (30, 50, 80 kPa) in a freeze-drying system designed as a prototype. Drying time is decreased with increasing cabin pressure.

Monolith formation and ring-stain suppression in low-pressure evaporation of poly(ethylene oxide) droplets [PDF]
When droplets of dilute suspensions are left to evaporate the final dry residue is typically the familiar coffee-ring stain, with nearly all material deposited at the initial triple line (Deegan et al, Nature, vol. 389, 1997, pp. 827-829).

Multiscale Structuring of Hydroxyapatite via Two‐Photon Lithography of Nanocomposites
Hydroxyapatite scaffolds are of great interest in bone tissue engineering applications, ranging from 3D cell culture to regenerative medicine. Using two‐photon lithography of a transparent nanocomposite, hydroxyapatite microstructures with features ranging from submicron to centimeter‐scale are fabricated. This allows to mimic the natural bone geometry,

By tuning the pore size of mesoporous N‐doped carbon (MPNC) nanospheres as support material for molybdenum sulfide, the electrochemical activity of the composite material for the hydrogen evolution reaction can be optimized. An ideal MPNC pore size of 60 nm allows a high number of molybdenum sulfide active sites while maintaining efficient proton and ...
