Reasons for low heavy vacuum gas oil yield in vacuum distillation of residual fuel oil
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 2009Calculations are made of the heat balance of the vacuum column K-101 of the VDM-2 plant of LUKOIL Neftokhim Burgas AD, which made it possible to disclose the reasons for decline in heavy vacuum gas oil yield with increase in plant load and to discard the hypothesis that the reason for this is perforating of the plate from which the gas oil is withdrawn.

Oxidative Desulfurization of Light Gas Oil and Vacuum Gas Oil by Oxidation and Solvent Extraction
Energy & Fuels, 2000The oxidation of model sulfur compounds (thiophene derivatives, benzothiophene derivatives, and dibenzothiophene derivatives), straight run-light gas oil (SR-LGO, S: 1.35 wt %), and vacuum gas oil (VGO, S: 2.17 wt %) were conducted with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and formic acid. The thiophene derivatives with 5.696 to 5.716 electron densities on

The effect of the preliminary impregnation of zeolites HREY and HZSM-5 with ammonium phosphate before introducing them into the composition of dual-zeolite catalysts has been studied. It has been found that the modification leads to a change in the main textural characteristics of the zeolites. Both the specific surface area and the meso- and micropore

Apparent Kinetics of Co-Gasification of Biomass and Vacuum Gas Oil (VGO).
Chemistry - An Asian Journal, 2020This communication reports the beneficial effects of co-gasification of biomass and residual oil to produce syngas. In this regard, various blends of glucose (a biomass surrogate) to vacuum gas oil (VGO) have been employed to investigate the synergic ...

Co-hydroprocessing HTL Biocrude from Waste Biomass with Bitumen-Derived Vacuum Gas Oil
Energy & Fuels, 2019In this study, we investigate the feasibility of co-processing biocrude in petroleum vacuum gas oil (VGO) hydroprocessing units. The biogenic component of the feed was biocrude produced by hydrothermal liquefaction of woody biomass, while VGO from oil ...

Upgrading Vacuum Gas Oils by Hydrocracking
1989Abstract The initial developments of modern hydrocracking processes leading to high performance zeolite catalysts are reviewed. The production of high octane gasoline from low octane feedstocks is discussed along with the improvements in performance of catalysts for gasoline production.

Catalytic Cracking of Vacuum Gas Oil on the Dealuminated Mordenites
Journal of Catalysis, 1998Abstract Catalytic cracking of vacuum gas oil was carried out at 500°C over two series of mordenites treated by either steam/HCl or HF. Secondary mesopores were formed in the mordenite by these treatments and their volumes increased with the degree of dealumination, whereas the micropore volumes decreased proportionately.
