Thermal Performance Testing for Window with Vacuum Glazing

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2019
This document deals with the determination of thermal transmission properties of wood-aluminium window with vacuum glazing. Test measurements are performed with guarded hot-box method at defined temperature difference. They describe how the support pillars influence temperature distribution on the surface and how the edge vacuum glazing influence the ...

Stress distribution research on vacuum flat glazing

2011 International Conference on Business Management and Electronic Information, 2011
Vacuum glazing is a new energy-saving material; the damage of it is caused mainly by the tensile stress. In this paper, stress distribution and parameters of vacuum glazing effect on stress and deformation have been researched according the Atmospheric effects using finite element method.

Characterization of the thermal insulating properties of vacuum glazing

Materials Science and Engineering: B, 2007
Abstract Methods are described for characterizing the thermal insulating properties of vacuum glazing—two flat sheets of glass, hermetically sealed together around the edges containing a highly evacuated space, and separated by small pillars. The small-area guarded hot plate apparatus gives absolute measurements of the different heat flows through ...

Vacuum glazing: Development, design challenges and commercialisation

Australian Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2014
Vacuum glazing is an innovative transparent thermal insulator that has applications in high performance windows. Two sheets of glass are separated by an evacuated space maintained by a regular array of support pillars, and the structure is sealed around the edges with solder glass or a metal bond. The evacuated internal gap reduces the heat transfer

A Novel Method to Seal the Edge of the Vacuum Glazing

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
Vacuum glazing is a new building material with excellent energy conservation and sound insulation properties. Usually, the edge sealing layer between two sheets of glass substrates are prepared by spraying the seal glass paste and then sintering. In the present research, a more effective preparation method is reported.
