Ionic Precursors Transformed Into Vinyl Acetate Synthesis Catalyst via Reaction‐Driven Restructuring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that a simple physical mixture of Pd and Au ionic precursors, KOAc promoter, and SiO2 support can transform into a highly active vinyl acetate synthesis catalyst through reaction‐driven restructuring. The results highlight reaction‐induced restructuring as an innovative and sustainable catalyst design strategy.

Study on Metabolic Consequences of Vacuum Impregnation of Apple Tissue

open access: yes, 2011
Vacuum Impregnation in food industry is an interesting process particularly in semy-dry fruit processing. At the beginning of the process the pressure is reduced and the internal gas in the product pores is expanded and partially flows out, after that ...

Vacuum Impregnation Pretreatment with Pectinmethylesterase to Improve Firmness of Pasteurized Fruits

open access: yes, 2006
International audienceABSTRACT: Vacuum impregnation allows replacing the occluded air present in fruits by a solution. Apples, strawberries, and raspberries were infused in a solution of pectinmethylesterase (PME) and calcium chloride (CaCl 2 ) either by

Design and Analysis of Impregnation Chamber Used In Vacuum Pressure Impregnation Process

open access: yesIOSR Journal of Mechanical and Civil Engineering, 2013
The simple explanation is that in nature and in manufacturing, things leak. Vacuum impregnation stops leak. The ultimate goal of vacuum impregnation is to seal leak/migration paths without impacting the functional, assembly or appearance characteristics of a part.

Monolithic Oxidation Enables Ultrathin Vertically Graded Tantalum Oxide for Low‐Voltage, Low‐Variability Memristive Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Monolithic UV‐ozone oxidation of Ta forms an ultrathin Ta2O5/TaOx bilayer enabling resistive switching with a vertical defect gradient. A stoichiometric surface layer over an oxygen‐deficient sublayer promotes localized filament nucleation near the top interface, enabling low‐voltage operation, and reduced cycle‐to‐cycle variability.

Hierarchical Primary‐Secondary Coordination Synchronizes Ion Flux and Sulfur Redox in Solid Polymer Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hierarchical coordination engineering redistributes Li+ from anion‐dominated pairing toward polymer‐mediated binding. Strong primary sites promote salt dissociation, while distributed secondary sites sustain dynamic hopping pathways. This coordination landscape couples ion flux with polysulfide conversion, suppresses transport‐conversion decoupling ...
