Lattice gradient flows (de-)stabilizing topological sectors
We investigate the stability of topological charge under gradient flow taking the admissibility condition into account. For the SU(2) Wilson gauge theory with β = 2.45 and L 4 = 124, we numerically show that the gradient flows with the Iwasaki and DBW2 ...

Origin and Quantitative Description of the NESSIAS Effect at Si Nanostructures
The electronic structure of SiO2‐ versus Si3N4‐coated low nanoscale intrinsic silicon (Si) shifts away from versus toward the vacuum level Evac, originating from the Nanoscale Electronic Structure Shift Induced by Anions at Surfaces (NESSIAS).

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Packaging of Macroscopic Material Payloads: Needs, Challenges, Concepts, and Future Directions
This review introduces a unified framework that decomposes any macroscopic packaging system into the payload, packaging material, and packaging strategy and combines them into a conceptual packaging equation: packaging strategy = payload + packaging material.

Entanglement entropy of a color flux tube in (2+1)D Yang-Mills theory
We construct a novel flux tube entanglement entropy (FTE2), defined as the excess entanglement entropy relative to the vacuum of a region of color flux stretching between a heavy quark-anti-quark pair in pure gauge Yang-Mills theory.

Interaction potential in compact three-dimensional QED with mixed action
We use a variational wave function to calculate the energy of the interaction between external charges in the compact Abelian gauge theory in 2+1 dimensions with mixed action.

Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

Identifying topological structures with adjoint mode filtering
We present new investigations on the Adjoint Filtering Method (AFM), a proposal for filtering gauge configurations by using adjoint zero modes. This method relies on the existence of the Supersymmetric Zero Mode (SZM), whose density follows the gauge ...

Giant Magneto-optical Kerr Effect and Universal Faraday Effect in Thin-film Topological Insulators
Topological insulators can exhibit strong magnetoelectric effects when their time-reversal symmetry is broken. In this Letter we consider the magneto-optical Kerr and Faraday effects of a topological insulator thin film weakly exchange-coupled to a ...
