Oat Bran Supplementation Improves Glucose Metabolism, Food Addiction, and Gut Microbiota in Rats With High‐Fat Diet‐Induced Obesity

open access: yesFood Frontiers, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Oat bran (OB), a byproduct of the oat milling process, is a nutrient‐dense cereal cultivated in cool, dry mountainous regions and is known for its potential health benefits. To explore its obesity‐alleviating effects and the underlying mechanisms, we examined the influence of OB on glucose metabolism, appetite‐regulating hormones, gut ...

Exploring the application of ferroelectret nanogenerators in medical engineering

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
Abstract Flexible devices derived from piezoelectric materials have gained considerable attention due to their exceptional biocompatibility. Among these, ferroelectret nanogenerators (FENG) is a novel type of flexible piezoelectric device that integrates self‐powering, actuation, and sensing capabilities.

Predictive Factors of Malignancy in Cervical Paragangliomas: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Early predictive factors of metastatic cervical paragangliomas (cPG) are lacking. Methods This multicenter retrospective study included patients with at least one cPG. Metastatic cPG were defined by the histological presence of lymph node metastases or distant metastases.

Components of the Vagus Nerve

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1932
The number of unmyelinated fibers in the cervical vagus trunk greatly exceeds the number of myelinated fibers. Kiss1 regards the unmyelinated fibers as sympathetic fibers which join the vagus trunk mainly in the region of the superior cervical sympathetic ganglion. He denies the existence of unmyelinated fibers in the vagus rootlets.
