The validity of the postcoital test

American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1990
Opinion is divided on the clinical usefulness of the postcoital (Sims-Huhner) test in diagnosing infertility. To evaluate the validity of this test, we reviewed the world's literature in English and calculated four indexes of validity for each study with sufficient information. The sensitivity of the test ranged from 0.09 to 0.71, specificity from 0.62

The Validity of the Atropine Test

Gynecologic Investigation, 2010
In order to evaluate the clinical validity of the so-called ‘atropine test’, it has been performed in 83 women in their 35th to 43rd week of pregnancy. A statistical evaluation of the data has shown a serious limitation of both diagnostic and prognostic possibilities of the test; this can be attributed to the great variability of maternal environments.

The Test Validation Summary

Assessment, 2008
Common rates employed in classificatory testing are the true positive rate (TPR), false positive rate (FPR), positive predictive power (PPP), and negative predictive power (NPP). FPR and TPR are estimated from research samples representing populations to be distinguished by classificatory testing.

Validation of New Tests

Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology, 1991
Tests may provide valuable information for identification or prediction functions. Examples include disease diagnosis and staging, therapeutic outcome prediction, outbreak detection, infection control policy compliance monitoring, and other quality assurance monitoring.

ON THE VALIDITY OF THE RORSCHACH TEST

Scandinavian Journal of Psychology, 1965
Rorschach protocols of 20 persons (normals, depressives, and schizophrenics) were analysed, using the inverted, or Q, method of factoring. Three factors emerged from the analysis and corresponded to the three psychiatric categories. Groups of items, allegedly measuring the isolated factors, were applied to a second population of 42 persons resulting in

Model Validation Test

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1994
Abstract This paper proposes a method to determine whether or not the real plant model is in a domain which is defined with a given nominal plant model and a given perturbation bound, when an input sequence and an output sequence of the plant are available.

Validity Testing of the accuPINCH  THC Test

Journal of Analytical Toxicology, 1995
Self-contained drug-testing kits are currently being marketed for a variety of drugs of abuse. These tests are designed to provide rapid access to test results without the need for laboratory facilities. This report describes a validity study of the accuPINCH THC test, a self-contained test for cannabinoids in urine.

The Validity of a Screening Test

Optometry and Vision Science, 1982
Abstract Many health professionals screen for the early detection of disease. Unfortunately, many of the tests and programs have poor validity or are applied to screening populations where the prevalence of disease precludes efficient screening operations.

Validity of in Vitro Testing

Drug Metabolism Reviews, 1990
In summary, the extent of toxicity studies which can be carried out with bound residues of nitroimidazole drugs will be dictated by the availability and the amount of residues that can be produced. For evaluating their toxicity the use of the Salmonella assay, which has been proven to be sensitive for the parent drugs, is proposed.
