Particle Ratios in a Multicomponent Nonideal Hadron Resonance Gas
We have considered formation of a multicomponent nonideal hot and dense gas of hadronic resonances in the ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions. In the statistical thermal model approach, the equation of state (EoS) of the noninteracting ideal hadron ...

On Shock Reflection–Diffraction in a van der Waals Gas [PDF]
The problem of a weak shock, reflected and diffracted by a wedge, is studied for the two‐dimensional compressible Euler system. Some recent developments are overviewed and a perspective is presented within the context of a real gas, modeled by the van der Waals equation of state.

Van der Waals excluded-volume model of multicomponent hadron gas [PDF]
A generalization of the Van der Waals excluded volume procedure for the multicomponent hadron gas is proposed. The derivation is based on the grand canonical partition function for the system of particles of several species interacting by hard core potentials.

Bouncing off the walls : the influence of gas-kinetic and van der Waals effects in drop impact [PDF]
A model is developed for liquid drop impact on a solid surface that captures the thin film gas flow beneath the drop, even when the film’s thickness is below the mean free path in the gas so that gas kinetic effects (GKE) are important.

Van der Waals interactions and the limits of isolated atom models at interfaces
Van der Waals forces are individually weak, but on scale can drive many nano- and macroscopic processes. Here, Kawai et al. directly measure the van der Waals interactions between noble gas atom pairs and show how this changes with atom size and surface ...

The van der Waals idea of pseudo associations and the critical compressibility factor
The dimensionless value of critical compressibility factor in the van der Waals theory of gas-liquid critical point is a universal constant, Z_{c} = 0.375.

VERTICAL PROFILE OF DENSITY IN A VAN DER WAALS ATMOSPHERE IN NATAL CITY
The van der Waals state equation for atmosphere is determined from the critical temperature and critical pressure of the air gases. The meteorological radiosonde measures atmospheric pressure, temperature, and other meteorological variables, at several ...

Driven granular gas with van der Waals interaction [PDF]
Granular matter is a collection of solid particles which inelastically collide with each other with possible size range from 1 μm (like clays) to 1 km (like some asteroids). Due to the characteristic of dissipation, a myriad of interesting phenomena are observed in granular system, such as pattern formation, ``Brazil nut effect'', and phase separations.

Van der Waals interactions in systems involving gas hydrates [PDF]
Abstract The goal of this work is to quantify the Van der Waals interactions in systems involving gas hydrates. Gas hydrates are crystalline compounds that are often encountered in oil and gas industry, where they pose problems (pipeline plugging, etc.) and represent opportunities (energy resources, gas transport, etc.).

Thermogeometric study of van der Waals like phase transition in black holes: An alternative approach
It is well-known that the non-extremal anti-de-Sitter (AdS) black holes show various van der Waals type criticalities, such as the P−V, T−S, Y−X, Q2−Ψ etc. In these cases, the phase space diagram of the relevant quantities are similar in behaviour to the
