Determination of vapor-liquid equilibrium data by continuous distillation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1960
The procuring of experimental vapor-liquid equilibrium data has been a problem of considerable importance to chemical engineers for a number of years. Modern distillation theory and practice have made accurate vapor-liquid equilibrium data practically a ...

Isobaric vapor-Liquid Equilibrium of Ethyl-Acetate+ 2-Propanol and Ethyl Acetate+ Ethanol Mixtures at 84.8 kPa [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 1992
Accurate vapor-liquid equilibrium data have been obtained for ethyl acetate + 2-propanol and ethyl acetate + ethanol mixtures at 84.8 kPa, and the results are discussed thermodynamically.

Leucine‐rich glioma inactivated 1 (LGI1) is a ganglioside‐binding protein

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neuronal hyperexcitability associated with a decrease/absence of the extracellular protein LGI1 has been suggested to be primarily due to the downregulation of Kv1 channel expression. The molecular mechanisms underlying this decrease have not yet been elucidated.

Conceptual analysis of single-feed heterogeneous distillation columns

open access: yesIngeniería e Investigación, 2015
Separation in heterogeneous distillation columns is attained by interaction of two liquid and one vapor phases, interaction of three phases involves complexities due to the determination of vapor-liquid-liquid equilibrium and hence, in the design of ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

Structural and biochemical insights into the thermostable esterase Ta0887 from Thermoplasma acidophilum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In this study, a novel esterase from the thermoacidophilic archaeon Thermoplasma acidophilum was biochemically and structurally characterized. Our results demonstrate that Ta0887 is a highly thermostable esterase that preferentially hydrolyzes p‐nitrophenyl hexanoate and possesses an α‐helical cap domain that likely contributes to its substrate ...

Prediction of vapor-liquid equilibrium from ternary liquid-liquid equilibrium data [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Reasonable estimates of ternary vapor-liquid equilibrium can be obtained by using the corresponding liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data with the NRTL, LEMF and UNIQUAC models. The overall average absolute deviation in vapor phase concentration for seven

Water advancing and receding process as a liquid–vapor interface geometrical question

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
Existing wetting theories have difficulty accurately describing advancing/receding processes on micro-structured surfaces. A strategy is proposed to solve this problem by recognizing it as a liquid–vapor interface geometrical question.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.
