Mechanically Assisted Magnetic Actuation in Ceramic‐Based Microscrolls for Fast and Durable Soft Robotic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ceramic‐based V2O5/Fe3O4 hybrid films are shaped into butterfly‐proboscis‐inspired microscroll actuators. Magnetic triggering initiates unrolling, while geometry‐programmed elastic strain energy drives rapid recoil, enabling fast, reversible, durable, and load‐bearing actuation under near‐field magnetic stimulation.

Computer Simulation of Vapor-Liquid Phase Separation

Molecular Simulation, 1996
Abstract A late-time growth law of domains undergoing vapor-liquid phase separation is studied for two- and three-dimensional Lennard-Jones fluids by molecular dynamics simulations. The characteristic domain size shows a power law growth in a late stage with the growth exponent of ½ for both two- and three-dimensional fluids.

Vapor–liquid phase separation in micro-/ministructured devices

Chemical Engineering Science, 2013
Abstract Gas/vapor–liquid phase separation can generally be achieved through mechanisms such as gravity, centrifugal forces, impingement and surface tension forces. In this study several micro-/ministructured devices for the separation of gas/vapor and liquid phases are investigated numerically and experimentally.
