Computer Simulation of Vapor-Liquid Phase Separation

Molecular Simulation, 1996
Abstract A late-time growth law of domains undergoing vapor-liquid phase separation is studied for two- and three-dimensional Lennard-Jones fluids by molecular dynamics simulations. The characteristic domain size shows a power law growth in a late stage with the growth exponent of ½ for both two- and three-dimensional fluids.

Vapor–liquid phase separation in micro-/ministructured devices

Chemical Engineering Science, 2013
Abstract Gas/vapor–liquid phase separation can generally be achieved through mechanisms such as gravity, centrifugal forces, impingement and surface tension forces. In this study several micro-/ministructured devices for the separation of gas/vapor and liquid phases are investigated numerically and experimentally.

Prediction and verification of the thermodynamic performance of vapor–liquid separation condenser

Energy, 2013
Abstract This paper proposed a computation program to predict the in-tube thermodynamic performance of the LSC (liquid–vapor separation condenser). The refrigerant circuit of the LSC was then optimized using the Penalty Factor with the predicted results.

Microphase separation versus the vapor-liquid transition in systems of spherical particles

Journal of Chemical Physics, 1999
The conditions, i.e., the interparticle potentials, for which vapor–liquid coexistence is supplanted by microphase separation are examined. The liquid phase is found for potentials with a steeply repulsive core and an attraction of not-too-short a range. To this potential we add a repulsion of longer range than the attraction and find that it breaks up
