Defect Suppression via Tailoring Functionalized Additives for Efficient and Stable CsPbI3 Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
This study proposed a structure‐designed benzohydrazide derivative, namely 4‐methoxybenzohydrazide (MeOBH), as an additive to regulate crystallization, passivate defects, optimize energy‐level structure, and enhance phase stability of β‐CsPbI3 perovskite films.

Interface Engineering Remarkably Improves the Stability of Fe‐Based Electrode for Alkaline Water Electrolysis at Industrial Ampere‐Level Current Density

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Interface engineering improves the stability of iron‐based industrial oxygen evolution catalysts by more than 2000 times at ampere‐level current density. ABSTRACT Iron‐based self‐supported electrocatalysts offer cost‐effective oxygen evolution activity but suffer from severe stability degradation under industrial operation.

Measurement of transpiration in Pinus taeda L. and Liquidambar styraciflua L. in an environmental chamber using tritiated water [PDF]

open access: yes
Transpiration rates of loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) and sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua L.) were measured at two different atmospheric water vapor pressure deficits (V.P.D.) in a controlled environment growth chamber using tritiated water as a tracer.

High‐Performance Solar‐Thermal Hydrogel Based on Waste Biomass Materials for Power Generation and Water Purification

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
An environmentally friendly and highly efficient solar evaporator was constructed using waste biomass materials and polyvinyl alcohol carrier, which achieves an outstanding evaporation rate of 1.48 kg m−2 h−1, corresponding to an energy conversion efficiency of 82.49% under 1.0 kW m−2 simulated sunlight irradiation.

Physiology–microhabitat matching may help organisms cope with the thermal and hydric challenges under climate change: a tale of two lizards

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Climate change is significantly affecting biodiversity, and organisms that depend on external temperature – such as ectotherms – are particularly vulnerable to these effects. Microhabitats provide refuge for species, thereby reducing exposure to thermal and hydric stress under climate change.

Balancing the Competing Effects of Carrier and Phonon Transport Mechanisms to Enhance the Thermoelectric Properties of p‐Type Ti2Zr2−xHf2Nb2Fe5.6Ni2.4Sb8 Double Half‐Heusler Alloys via Cation Vacancy Engineering

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
By designing Zr vacancy‐filled p‐type Ti2Zr2Hf2Nb2Fe5.6Ni2.4Sb8‐based thermoelectric materials, multi‐physics mechanisms and multi‐scale microstructural defects are induced to optimize electrical properties and phonon transport while suppressing the bipolar diffusion effect.

Bioinspired Janus Evaporator for Efficient Desalination of Saline‐Alkali and Seawater Through Photothermal‐Capillary Effects

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This work combines textile technology to ingeniously integrate a hydrophobic PP/MXene photothermal sheath with a hydrophilic cotton core into functionalized yarns, successfully developing a Janus core‐sheath evaporator (PM‐CSY‐F). The evaporator demonstrates outstanding evaporation rates and efficient desalination efficiency when applied to treating ...

Highly Efficient and Salt‐Tolerant Broom‐like Bamboo Solar Evaporator: Constructing Multiscale Open Gaps to Enhance Water Transportation and Vapor Diffusion

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A bamboo fiber aggregation‐based broom‐like evaporator with open interstitial spaces for water transport and vapor diffusion was designed that provided extensive air–liquid interfaces for facilitating fast vapor diffusion and avoiding the formation of high‐humidity zones.
