Extrasolar planets and brown dwarfs around A-F type stars VI. High precision RV survey of early type dwarfs with HARPS

open access: yes, 2008
(Abridged) Aims: Systematic surveys to search for exoplanets have been mostly dedicated to solar-type stars sofar. We developed in 2004 a method to extend such searches to earlier A-F type dwarfs and started spectroscopic surveys to search for planets ...

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

The RR Lyrae Luminosity Metallicity Relation Revisited

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We utilize a set of internally consistent absolute ages for a sample of ten Galactic globular clusters to determine the variation of the slope with the zero point of the M _V (RR) ∼ [Fe/H] relation for RR Lyrae variables.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

KIC 10855535: An Elegant δ Scuti Pulsator with Amplitude and Phase Modulation

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We investigated the pulsating behavior of KIC 10855535 using Kepler 4 yr long-cadence data. Two independent frequencies were detected: a pulsation frequency F0 = 17.733260(5) day ^−1 and a low frequency f _8 = 0.412643(8) day ^−1 .

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Asteroseismological Analysis of the Non-Blazhko RRab Star EPIC 248846335 in the LAMOST–Kepler/K2 Project

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We conduct an asteroseismological analysis on the non-Blazhko ab-type RR Lyrae star EPIC 248846335, employing the Radial Stellar Pulsations module of the Modules for Experiments in Stellar Astrophysics based on the set of stellar parameters.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
