Variable stiffness actuators: The user’s point of view [PDF]
Since their introduction in the early years of this century, variable stiffness actuators (VSA) witnessed a sustained growth of interest in the research community, as shown by the growing number of publications. While many consider VSA very interesting for applications, one of the factors hindering their further diffusion is the relatively new ...

Dynamic Modeling and Control of Antagonistic Variable Stiffness Joint Actuator
This study aims to develop a novel decoupling method for the independent control of the position and stiffness of a variable stiffness joint actuator (VSJA), which has been proven to be able to vary its stiffness in a larger range than other variable ...

Coupling between the Output Force and Stiffness in Different Variable Stiffness Actuators
The fundamental objective in developing variable stiffness actuators is to enable the actuator to deliberately tune its stiffness. This is done through controlling the energy flow extracted from internal power units, i.e., the motors of a variable ...

Variable Volumetric Stiffness Fluid Mount Design
Passive fluid mounts are commonly used in the automotive and aerospace applications to isolate the cabin from the engine noise and vibration. Due to manufacturing and material variabilities, no two identical fluid mount designs act the same.

Stiffness modeling of a variable stiffness compliant link
Abstract Recently, a variable stiffness robotic link based on the rotating beam concept has been developed for applications in physical human robot interaction. A substantial challenge for design of such links is the modeling of stiffness behavior to permit stiffness control.

Constraint-based equilibrium and stiffness control of variable stiffness actuators [PDF]
Considerable research effort has gone into the design of variable passive stiffness actuators (VSAs). A number of different mechanical designs have been proposed, aimed at either a biomorphic (i.e., antagonistic) design, compactness, or simplified modelling and control.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
