Tailoring Thermal Conductivity of Single-stranded Carbon-chain Polymers through Atomic Mass Modification [PDF]
Tailoring the thermal conductivity of polymers is central to enlarge their applications in the thermal management of flexible integrated circuits. Progress has been made over the past decade by fabricating materials with various nanostructures, but a ...

In this article, the photothermal excitation and thermal conductivity of a semiconducting elastic medium due to variable temperature effect are studied. The dual-phase-lag (DPL) model and Lord-Shulman (LS) theory are used to formulate and discuss the one

Optimization-based design of a heat flux concentrator [PDF]
To gain control over the diffusive heat flux in a given domain, one needs to engineer a thermal metamaterial with a specific distribution of the generally anisotropic thermal conductivity throughout the domain.

Spin-catalyzed hopping conductivity in disordered strongly interacting quantum wires [PDF]
In one-dimensional electronic systems with strong repulsive interactions, charge excitations propagate much faster than spin excitations. Such systems therefore have an intermediate temperature range [termed the "spin-incoherent Luttinger liquid'" (SILL)

Solving the heat equation with variable thermal conductivity
We consider the heat equation with spatially variable thermal conductivity and homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. Using the Method of Fokas or Unified Transform Method, we derive solution representations as the limit of solutions of constant-coefficient interface problems where the number of subdomains and interfaces becomes unbounded.

MHD Flow of Thixotropic Fluid with Variable Thermal Conductivity and Thermal Radiation
An analysis has been carried out to examine the two-dimensional and magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of thixotropic fluid over a stretched surface. The thermal radiation effect in the heat transfer is considered when the thermal conductivity is not ...
