Electroosmosis-Optimized Thermal Model for Peristaltic Transportation of Thermally Radiative Magnetized Liquid with Nonlinear Convection

open access: yesEntropy, 2022
The present study addresses the heat transfer efficiency and entropy production of electrically conducting kerosene-based liquid led by the combined impact of electroosmosis and peristalsis mechanisms. Effects of nonlinear mixed convection heat transfer,

Effect of lubricant compressibility and variable viscosity on the performance of three-lobe journal bearing [PDF]

open access: yesArchive of Mechanical Engineering, 2022
Different configurations of journal bearings have been extensively used in turbomachinery and power generating equipment. Three-lobe bearing is used due to its lower film temperature and stable operation.

On variable viscosity and enhanced dissipation

open access: yes, 2022
In this article we consider the 2D Navier-Stokes equations with variable viscosity depending on the vertical position. As our main result we establish linear enhanced dissipation near the non-affine stationary states replacing Couette flow. Moreover it turns out that the shear flow overcompensates for weakening viscosity: decreasing viscosity leads to ...

Heat and mass transfer of Williamson nanofluid flow yield by an inclined Lorentz force over a nonlinear stretching sheet

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
The present analysis is devoted to explore the computational solution of the problem addressing the variable viscosity and inclined Lorentz force effects on Williamson nanofluid over a stretching sheet.

Atmospheric Ekman Flows with Variable Eddy Viscosity [PDF]

open access: yesBoundary-Layer Meteorology, 2018
We revisit the classical problem of the behaviour of the wind in the steady atmospheric Ekman layer. We show, for general variable eddy viscosities, that in the Northern Hemisphere the time-averaged ageostrophic wind profile always decays in magnitude and turns clockwise with increasing height.

Numerical Solution of the Time-Dependent Navier–Stokes Equation for Variable Density–Variable Viscosity. Part I

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2015
We consider methods for the numerical simulations of variable density incompressible fluids, modelled by the Navier–Stokes equations. Variable density problems arise, for instance, in interfaces between fluids of different densities in multiphase flows ...

Rheology of Variable Viscosity-Based Mixed Convective Inclined Magnetized Cross Nanofluid with Varying Thermal Conductivity

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Cross nanofluid possesses an extraordinary quality among the various fluidic models to explore the key characteristics of flowing fluid during very low and very high shear rates and its viscosity models depend upon shear rate.
