A Remark on Wick Ordering of Random Variables [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper is a small note on the notation $\,:\! q(X)\!:\,$, for the Wick ordering of polynomials $q$ of random variables $X = (X_1,\dotsc,X_n)$, as introduced by Segal in [6]. We argue that expressing $q(X)$ as another polynomial $p$ of a different set

Midbrain PAG Astrocytes Modulate Mouse Defensive and Panic‐Like Behaviors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Astrocytes in the midbrain periaqueductal gray (PAG) dynamically encode threat intensity and shape defensive action selection in mice. Real‐time Ca2+ imaging reveals robust astrocytic activation during predator odor and CO2 exposure. Aberrant astrocytic Ca2+ overactivation disrupts goal‐directed escape, biases behavior toward freezing, and induces ...

Nanoscale Mapping of the Subcellular Glycosylation Landscape

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using multiplexed super‐resolution imaging with fluorophore‐labeled lectins, this study reports intracellular glycosylation at the nanoscale across organelles and synaptic specializations. Extending glycan analysis beyond the cell surface, Glyco‐STORM reveals distinct glycosylation nanodomains in the ER, Golgi, lysosomes, and synaptic sites.

Effects of Canopy Litter Removal on Canopy Structure, Understory Light and Vegetation Dynamics in Cunninghamia lanceolata Plantations of Varying Densities

open access: yesPlants
The prolonged retention of senescent branches and needles (canopy litter) in Cunninghamia lanceolata canopies is an evolutionary adaptation, yet its impacts on stand microenvironment and understory succession remain poorly quantified. To address this gap,

Implicit renewal theory for exponential functionals of L\'evy processes

open access: yes, 2015
We establish a new functional relation for the probability density function of the exponential functional of a L\'evy process, which allows to significantly simplify the techniques commonly used in the study of these random variables and hence provide ...

Structural Variation and 3D Genome‐Driven DNA/RNA Methylation Divergence Contributing to Cotton Fiber Domestication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
These findings elucidated the crucial role of the “SVs‐3D genome remodeling‐epigenetic modifications‐gene expression” cascade regulatory network in cotton fiber domestication, offering both a theoretical foundation and genetic resources for molecular design breeding in fiber crops.

Helix Alignment, Chevrons, and Edge Dislocations in Twist‐Bend Ferroelectric Nematics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The recently discovered twist‐bend ferroelectric nematic (NTBF) is the new member of the multiferroic family, representing a fluid with an oblique helicoidal (heliconical) periodic structure of spontaneous electric polarization. The work presents a thorough exploration of the material properties of this phase, how the periodic modulation of ...

Interaction and effects of temperature preference under a controlled environment on the diversity and abundance of the microbiome in Lutzomyia longipalpis (Diptera: Psychodidae)

open access: yesBiotechnology Reports
Characterization of the temperature effects on the abundance and richness of the microbiota of Lutzomyia longipalpis, insect vector of Leishmania infantum in America, is an aspect of pivotal importance to understand the interactions between temperature ...
