Monte Carlo simulations of a diffusive shock with multiple scattering angular distributions

open access: yes, 2011
We independently develop a simulation code following the previous dynamical Monte Carlo simulation of the diffusive shock acceleration under the isotropic scattering law during the scattering process, and the same results are obtained.

Synthesis and Electronic Structure of the Fractionally Occupied Double Perovskite EuTa2O6 with Ordered Europium Vacancies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two‐dimensional electronic states are the foundation of modern semiconductor technology. Here, we report molecular‐beam epitaxy growth of fractional double perovskite, EuTa2O6. Reciprocal space mapping and transmission electron microscopy confirm a layered ordering of A‐site cations.

Least squares deconvolution of the stellar intensity and polarization spectra

open access: yes, 2010
Least squares deconvolution (LSD) is a powerful method of extracting high-precision average line profiles from the stellar intensity and polarization spectra.

A Comparative Analysis of Plasmonic and Dielectric Metasurface Sensing Platforms Powered by Bound States in the Continuum

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work reveals a fundamental trade‐off between plasmonic and dielectric metasurfaces for molecular sensing. A clear performance crossover is identified: dielectric metasurfaces excel in air, while plasmonic metasurfaces dominate in lossy solvents. These results establish design rules for infrared metasurface sensors and enable optimized performance ...

In-field Phasing at the Upgraded GMRT

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
In time-domain radio astronomy with arrays, voltages from individual antennas are added together with proper delay and fringe correction to form the beam in real time.

Toward Noninvasively Imaging pH at the Surface of Implanted Orthopedic Devices in Live Rabbits Using X‐ray Excited Luminescence Chemical Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Imaging pH in a live rabbit at the surface of a sensor‐coated titanium plate using X‐ray excited luminescent chemical imaging (XELCI). A raster scanning X‐ray beam generates radioluminescence from a spot on the sensor, and the luminescence passes through the tissue and is collected at two wavelengths to determine local pH.

Orbital Decay of the Ultra-hot Jupiter TOI-2109b: Tidal Constraints and Transit-timing Analysis

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
TOI-2109b is the ultra-hot Jupiter with the shortest orbital period (∼16 hr) yet discovered. At this close distance, strong tidal interactions can produce a significant exchange of angular momentum with the star.

The spectroscopic binary system Gl 375. I. Orbital parameters and chromospheric activity

open access: yes, 2007
We study the spectroscopic binary system Gl 375. We employ medium resolution echelle spectra obtained at the 2.15 m telescope at the Argentinian observatory CASLEO and photometric observations obtained from the ASAS database.

Heterogeneous Nanopore Arrays – Selective Modification of Nanopores Embedded in a Membrane

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Biological processes rely on the concerted action of channels with different functionalities embedded in the same membrane. Inspired by nature, heterogeneous nanopore arrays are prepared where two nanopores are connected in parallel and function as two different elements of an ionic circuit: a diode and a resistor.
