Subitizing with Variational Autoencoders [PDF]
Numerosity, the number of objects in a set, is a basic property of a given visual scene. Many animals develop the perceptual ability to subitize: the near-instantaneous identification of the numerosity in small sets of visual items. In computer vision, it has been shown that numerosity emerges as a statistical property in neural networks during ...

Anomaly detection algorithm based on Gaussian mixture variational auto encoder network
Anomalous data, which deviates from a large number of normal data, has a negative impact and contains a risk on various systems.Anomaly detection can detect anomalies in the data and provide important support for the normal operation of various systems ...

Bidirectional Variational Autoencoders
We present the new bidirectional variational autoencoder (BVAE) network architecture. The BVAE uses a single neural network both to encode and decode instead of an encoder-decoder network pair. The network encodes in the forward direction and decodes in the backward direction through the same synaptic web.

Biadversarial Variational Autoencoder
In the original version of the Variational Autoencoder, Kingma et al. assume Gaussian distributions for the approximate posterior during the inference and for the output during the generative process. This assumptions are good for computational reasons, e.g. we can easily optimize the parameters of a neural network using the reparametrization trick and

Variational Autoencoding Neural Operators
Unsupervised learning with functional data is an emerging paradigm of machine learning research with applications to computer vision, climate modeling and physical systems. A natural way of modeling functional data is by learning operators between infinite dimensional spaces, leading to discretization invariant representations that scale independently ...

A physics‐informed generative framework introduces Directional Latent Hybridization (DLH) for the deterministic inverse design of nonlinear metamaterials. By hybridizing dominant traits from parent geometries in the latent space, DLH overcomes the instabilities of stochastic models to ensure high structural precision at high densities.
