Pharmacogenomics in the UK National Health Service: Progress towards implementation

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Over the past decade there has been considerable and growing enthusiasm about the promise of using genomics to inform healthcare. In particular, using genetic data to inform prescribing practice has emerged as a compelling policy priority for health systems around the world, not least in the NHS.

Listening to young children with disabilities: Experiences of quality in mainstream primary education

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract All children should have access to quality education through a child‐centred pedagogy. An inclusive, child‐centred pedagogy uses a strength‐based view of children that recognises each child as unique and competent, providing children with multiple opportunities to explore and learn at their own pace.

Linear Convergence Results for Inertial Type Projection Algorithm for Quasi-Variational Inequalities [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Many recently proposed gradient projection algorithms with inertial extrapolation step for solving quasi-variational inequalities in Hilbert spaces are proven to be strongly convergent with no linear rate given when the cost operator is strongly monotone and Lipschitz continuous.

Activism as education in and through the youth climate justice movement

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Young people worldwide are increasingly participating in a global movement for climate justice, yet to date, little research has examined how youth climate justice activists conceive of and experience activism as education. The present study used in‐depth, semi‐structured interviews with 16 US climate justice activists (aged 15–17) to address ...

Discretization of semicoercive variational inequalities

open access: yesAequationes Mathematicae, 1991
Consider the variational inequality: $$Find \hat x \varepsilon K such that \beta (\hat x, x - \hat x) \geqslant \lambda (x - \hat x) for all x \varepsilon K$$ and its discretization: $$Find x_h \varepsilon K_h such that \beta (x_h , x - x_h ) \geqslant \lambda (x - x_h ) for all x \varepsilon K_h .$$ Here, in a real reflexive separable ...

Students' sense of belonging and authenticity in higher education

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Sense of belonging entails students' comfort level in the classroom and experienced faculty and peer support. A diminished sense of belonging can hamper academic performance. Therefore, it is important to know which student groups may experience weaker belonging and whether these disparities extend to students' authenticity, or perception they

On the possibility of applying variational inequalities to computer networks

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 1994
The possibility of applying a Variational Inequality model to the study of computer networks is analysed. In particular it is shown how the concepts of duality and potential for a Variational Inequality naturally arise and are crucial in this analysis.
