Explaining the Origin of Negative Poisson's Ratio in Amorphous Networks With Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This review summarizes how machine learning (ML) breaks the “vicious cycle” in designing auxetic amorphous networks. By transitioning from traditional “black‐box” optimization to an interpretable “AI‐Physics” closed‐loop paradigm, ML is shown to not only discover highly optimized structures—such as all‐convex polygon networks—but also unveil hidden ...

Harmonic calculation method for non-synchronous sampling data based on Hermite interpolation

open access: yesDiance yu yibiao
The high cost of power quality monitoring makes it difficult to install them on a large scale in distribution network, resulting in incomplete information on nodal harmonic monitoring.

Variational nodal perturbation calculations using simplified spherical harmonics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The simplified spherical harmonics (SP{sub N}) method has been used as an approximation to the transport equation in a number of situations. Recently, the SP{sub N} method has been formulated within the framework of the variational nodal method (VNM ...

Versatile Standing Wave Generation Between Arbitrarily Oriented Surfaces Using Acoustic Metasurface Deflectors and Retroreflectors

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
A novel method for generating versatile standing wave fields using an acoustic metasurface deflector and retroreflector is introduced. By overcoming traditional constraints of parallel surfaces, the approach enables customizable wave patterns and enhances applications in particle manipulation.

Analysis of functionally graded porous plates using an enhanced MITC3+ element with in-plane strain correction

open access: yesCurved and Layered Structures
In this work, an enhanced MITC3+ approach enriched by a constant in-plane strain correction is proposed in the analysis of functionally graded (FG) porous plates.

Research progress on biomarkers of traumatic brain injury

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Traumatic brain injury: From primary insult to secondary neuroinflammation and degeneration. Abstract Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a common disorder of the nervous system and has become a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, imposing a substantial burden on patients and their social circles. Its main symptoms include dyskinesia, language

Synthesis and characterization of amphiphilic nitroxide 1,1,3,3–tetraethylisoindoline–2–oxyl–5–sodium sulfonate (TEIOSNa)

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract The synthesis and characterization of an amphiphilic nitroxide to be used as a controlling agent in a nitroxide‐mediated living radical polymerization in aqueous dispersion media is presented. In the first stage of nitroxide synthesis (phthalimide protection), two reaction methods were employed: traditional and microwave.

A rock brittleness index based on the postpeak energy release rate and damage surface characteristics for brittle hard rock

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study examines energy evolution in rock rupture via triaxial direct shear tests, exploring the impact of confining pressure and temperature on fracture surface randomness. A novel energy‐based brittleness index is proposed, validated experimentally, and compared with existing methods for reliability and accuracy.
