Zasady wariacyjne a ich teleologiczna interpretacja
In this paper the problem of philosophical interpretation of variational principles is under investigation. The difference between differential and integral principles is presented and the history of various formulations of integral principles is ...

Metamaterial Acoustics on the (2 + 1)D Einstein Cylinder
The Einstein cylinder is the first cosmological model for our universe in modern history. Its geometry not only describes a static universe—a universe being invariant under time reversal—but it is also the prototype for a maximally symmetric spacetime ...

Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Action-Driven flows for causal variational principles
We introduce action-driven flows for causal variational principles, being a class of nonconvex variational problems emanating from applications in fundamental physics.

A Systematic Approach to Standard Dissipative Continua
Many isothermal dissipative continuum problems can be formulated in a variational setting using the concept of “standard dissipative continua”. A major advantage of this approach is that complex problems can be cast into a compact, thermodynamically ...

A Variational Principle for Ground Spaces [PDF]
The ground spaces of a vector space of hermitian matrices, partially ordered by inclusion, form a lattice constructible from top to bottom in terms of intersections of maximal ground spaces. In this paper we characterize the lattice elements and the maximal lattice elements within the set of all subspaces using constraints on operator cones.

Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Variational characterizations for eigenfunctions of analytic self-adjoint operator functions [PDF]
In this paper we consider Rellich's diagonalization theorem for analytic self-adjoint operator functions and investigate variational principles for their eigenfunctions and interlacing statements.
