DEVELOPMENTAL CHANGES IN THE VASCULAR CAMBIUM IN LEITNERIA FLORIDANA

American Journal of Botany, 1967
Developmental changes in the vascular cambium of Leitneria floridana, a shrub, were determined primarily by an analysis of the secondary xylem. During the production of the first growth ring of secondary xylem, 37% of the anticlinal divisions in the fusiform initials were lateral, the remaining were oblique.

Molecular Control of the Development and Function of the Vascular Cambium

2000
In woody species, the primary growth associated with shoot and root elongation is followed by secondary growth that increases the radial width of xylem and phloem through the activity of the vascular cambium. This meristem is similar to the shoot and root apical meristems in exhibiting highly controlled patterns of cell division, with individual ...

THE VASCULAR CAMBIUM AND XYLEM DEVELOPMENT IN HIBISCUS LASIOCARPUS

American Journal of Botany, 1963
Cumbie, B. G. (U. Missouri, Columbia.) The vascular cambium and xylem development in Hibiscus lasiocarpus. Amer. Jour. Bot. 50(9): 944–951. Illus. 1963.—Circumferential growth of the vascular cambium, as determined primarily by an analysis of the secondary xylem, in Hibiscus lasiocarpus, an herbaceous dicotyledon, occurred through both radial and ...

DEVELOPMENTAL CHANGES IN THE VASCULAR CAMBIUM OF POLYGONUM LAPATHIFOLIUM

American Journal of Botany, 1969
Developmental changes in the vascular cambium of Polygonum lapathifolium were determined primarily by an analysis of the secondary xylem. The cambium and xylem consist of fascicular and interfascicular regions in this herbaceous dicotyledon. Near the pith vessels are restricted to the fascicular regions of the xylem. During secondary growth vessels are

Laticifers in Vascular Cambium and Wood of Croton Spp. (Euphorbiaceae)

IAWA Journal, 1989
Laticifers are recorded both penetrating from primary tissues into the vascular cambium and secondary xylem, and traversing the secondary xylem in young stems of various Croton spp. These observations are unique for Euphorbiaceae, and highly unusual in other families.
