Shear‐induced blood damage—including hemolysis, platelet and neutrophil injury, and von Willebrand factor (vWF) degradation—was evaluated for the BrioVAD and HM3 using an in vitro circulatory loop under clinically relevant conditions. Extracorporeal albumin dialysis (OPAL) effectively reduces bilirubin and improves other laboratory markers in posthepatectomy liver failure, particularly in secondary forms.
