Cutaneous Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis With Hyperglobulinemia and Splenomegaly

• A patient with hepatosplenomegaly and recurrent small purpuric lesions of cutaneous leukocytoclastic vasculitis was found to have a polyclonal elevation of γ-globulin and a persistently elevated ESR. Circulating immune complexes were detected that support the concept of a postulated immune complex pathogenesis.

Cutaneous leukocytoclastic vasculitis in relation to streptokinase.

The case history is presented of a patient who developed a cutaneous leukocytoclastic vasculitis after he had been treated with intravenous streptokinase because of an acute myocardial infarction. Leukocytoclastic vasculitis is a seldom reported side effect of streptokinase and may be caused by a type III-hypersensitivity reaction.
