Transcription Factor Elf3 Modulates Vasopressin-Induced Aquaporin-2 Gene Expression in Kidney Collecting Duct Cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2019
Aquaporin-2 (AQP2) is a molecular water channel protein responsible for water reabsorption by the kidney collecting ducts. Many water balance disorders are associated with defects in AQP2 gene expression regulated by the peptide hormone vasopressin. Here,

Engineered Protein‐Based Ionic Conductors for Sustainable Energy Storage Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Rational incorporation of charged residues into an engineered, self‐assembling protein scaffold yields solid‐state protein films with outstanding ionic conductivity. Salt‐doping further enhances conductivity, an effect amplified in the engineered variants. These properties enable the material integration into an efficient supercapacitor.

Cellular Snowballing: Cell Adhesion and Migration Drive the Self‐Assembly of Cell‐Microgel Biohybrid Spheroids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new class of biohybrid spheroids is engineered through the self‐assembly of adherent cells and extracellular matrix‐mimetic hydrogel microparticles (microgels). By mimicking a snowballing effect, this approach enables scalable formation of porous, millimeter‐scale spheroids with enhanced cell viability and molecular diffusion.

The Level of Vasopressin is not solely resulted from the Concentration of Endotoxin but Proportional to Creatinine in Dogs with Pyometra [PDF]

open access: yesPakistan Veterinary Journal, 2011
Pyometra is one of the most common reproductive disorder characterized as fluid accumulation mainly pus and Gram-negative bacteria isolated from uterus in bitches. Impaired function of vasopressin is found in the disease.

Super‐Enhancer‐Driven SOX4/SMAD3 Mediate Membrane Remodeling by Regulating Phospholipid Metabolism to Accelerate Leukemia Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic myeloid leukemia blast phase (CML‐BP) poses a severe therapeutic challenge. This study reveals that the super‐enhancer‐driven transcription factors SOX4 and SMAD3 form a cooperative axis critical for disease progression. They co‐activate the oncogenic kinase AXL and promote phospholipid remodeling via LPCAT1 to facilitate its signaling ...

Vasopressin and its analogues in shock states: a review

open access: yesAnnals of Intensive Care, 2020
Activation of arginine–vasopressin is one of the hormonal responses to face vasodilation-related hypotension. Released from the post-pituitary gland, vasopressin induces vasoconstriction through the activation of V1a receptors located on vascular smooth ...

High‐Fidelity Synthetic Data Replicates Clinical Prediction Performance in a Million‐Patient Diabetes Cohort

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study generates high‐fidelity synthetic longitudinal records for a million‐patient diabetes cohort, successfully replicating clinical predictive performance. However, deeper analysis reveals algorithmic biases and trajectory inconsistencies that escape standard quality metrics. These findings challenge current validation norms, demonstrating why a

Serum Sodium Concentration During Arginine Vasopressin Infusion in Critically Ill Children

open access: yesChildren
Background: Intravenous arginine vasopressin is increasingly used for the treatment of critically ill children. It bears the risk of hyponatraemia with potential severe long-term sequelae, but data on hyponatraemia as a side effect of continuous ...

Systematically Engineering for Efficient Production of 3‐Methyl‐1‐Butanol in Escherichia coli

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated metabolic engineering strategy was established for high‐level 3‐methyl‐1‐butanol biosynthesis in Escherichia coli. Molecular dynamics‐guided semi‐rational engineering of dihydroxyacid dehydratase uncovered and relieved key catalytic bottlenecks, while adaptive laboratory evolution enhanced strain robustness.
