Temperature Effects on Retention and Separation of PAHs in Reversed-Phase Liquid Chromatography Using Columns Packed with Fully Porous and Core-Shell Particles

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2016
Effects of temperature on the reversed-phase chromatographic behavior of PAHs were investigated on three columns. The first was the recent C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm) packed with 5 µm core-shell particles while the others were more conventional C18 ...

Preventing atrial fibrillation by combined right isthmus ablation and cryoballoon pulmonary vein isolation in patients with typical atrial flutter: PAF-CRIOBLAF study. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Arrhythm, 2021
Atrial flutter (AFl) patients with prior occasionally recorded atrial fibrillation (AF) were randomly assigned to undergo cavo‐tricuspid isthmus (CTI) ablation or CTI plus pulmonary vein isolation (combined atrial flutter ablation). AF was neither the predominant (67% of the population with only one recorded AF episode) nor the targeted arrhythmia.

Theory of mind deficits in Korsakoff's syndrome and alcohol use disorder: Similar deficits but different underlying cognitive processes. [PDF]

open access: yesAlcohol Clin Exp Res (Hoboken)
The aim of this study was to explore Theory of Mind (ToM) in Korsakoff's syndrome (KS) compared with severe alcohol use disorder (sAUD). We used a cognitive ToM test that reduces the cognitive load and global cognitive screening, working memory, and executive tests.

Crustal Structure and Stratigraphy of the South Mozambique Margin to South Mozambique Ridge From Combined Wide‐Angle and Reflection Seismic and Drill Hole Data

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 10, Issue 10, October 2023., 2023
Abstract We have analyzed the MZ6 onshore‐offshore wide‐angle seismic profile of the MOZ3‐5 survey to investigate the crustal structure of the South Mozambique passive margin. The NNW‐SSE, 625 km‐long profile runs across the Mozambique coastal plain (MCP), the Continental Shelf and Slope, the Almirante Leite Ridge (ALR), the North Natal Valley (NNV ...

Insular volumetry in severe alcohol use disorder and Korsakoff's syndrome through an anatomical parcellation: Let us go back to basics

open access: yesAddiction Biology, Volume 28, Issue 10, October 2023., 2023
The lack of congruency in insular parcellation led to major heterogeneity in the exploration of this key craving neural substrate in the addiction field. We explored, using a refined anatomical parcellation of insula (6*2), its volumetry in 50 patients presenting severe alcohol use disorder, 19 with Korsakoff's syndrome and 36 healthy controls.

Monochromatic design in a polychrome world. Why our cities have become increasingly gray: A dichotomy between production and reception in architectural color design

open access: yesColor Research &Application, Volume 48, Issue 5, Page 543-556, September/October 2023., 2023
Abstract Color is a central component of human experience, yet when we narrow our focus to the practice of city planning and architecture, color only plays a marginal role in the initial phases of the design process. This paper reviews various approaches to using color on buildings: for example, the evolution of regional styles due to the availability ...

Nationalism and environmentalism: The case of Vauban

open access: yesNations and Nationalism, Volume 28, Issue 4, Page 1193-1211, October 2022., 2022
Abstract Although nationalism has been identified as the dominant ideology of the modern era, and environmentalism is the 21st century rising star, few studies address the relationship between them. The consensus seems to be that they are hardly compatible, considering that nationalism is a boundary‐building phenomenon while environmentalism advocates ...
