Taurine promotes glucagon‐like peptide‐1 secretion in enteroendocrine L cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Taurine, a sulfur‐containing amino acid, is likely taken up by enteroendocrine L cells via the taurine transporter. This process increases the levels of cytosolic ATP. The increase in intracellular Ca2+ concentrations and glucagon‐like peptide‐1 secretion through membrane depolarization is caused by the closure of ATP‐sensitive potassium channels ...

Generalised connections over a vector bundle map

open access: yes, 2002
A generalised notion of connection on a fibre bundle E over a manifold M is presented. These connections are characterised by a smooth distribution on E which projects onto a (not necessarily integrable) distribution on M and which, in addition, is ...

Bigness of the tangent bundles of projective bundles over curves [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
In this short article, we determine the bigness of the tangent bundle $T_X$ of the projective bundle $X=\mathbb{P}_C(E)$ associated to a vector bundle $E$ on a smooth projective curve $C$.

The solution supramolecular structure of α2 → 8 polysialic acid suggests a structural cause for its low immunogenicity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
α2 → 8 polysialic acid elicits poor immunogenicity. Small‐angle scattering shows a supramolecular structure with parallel‐chain binding, although in different forms at μm and mm calcium. The major histocompatibility complex requires molecular weights around 2000 Da to produce antibodies, and 2000 Da polysialic oligomers will bind in these structures ...

On the scalar components of the canonical form on higher order frame bundles

open access: yesДифференциальная геометрия многообразий фигур
A detailed obtaining of the expressions for the scalar components of the canonical form on higher order frame bundles over a smooth manifold has been done.

A Cohomological Class of Vector Bundles [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1994
The goal of this paper is to give a cohomological characterization of F n , t {F_{n,t}} , where F n , t := Ker ⁡ ( (

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Brill-Noether-general limit root bundles: absence of vector-like exotics in F-theory Standard Models

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
Root bundles appear prominently in studies of vector-like spectra of 4d F-theory compactifications. Of particular importance to phenomenology are the Quadrillion F-theory Standard Models (F-theory QSMs).

Solutions of the Strominger System via Stable Bundles on Calabi-Yau Threefolds

open access: yes, 2012
We prove that a given Calabi-Yau threefold with a stable holomorphic vector bundle can be perturbed to a solution of the Strominger system provided that the second Chern class of the vector bundle is equal to the second Chern class of the tangent bundle.
