Puzzle for the Vector Meson Threshold Photoproduction

Proceedings of 10th International Conference on Quarks and Nuclear Physics — PoS(QNP2024)
High-statistics total cross sections for the vector meson photoproduction at the threshold: $\gamma p\to\omega p$ (from A2 at MAMI, ELPH, and CBELSA/TAPS), $\gamma p\to \phi p$ (from CLAS and LEPS), and $\gamma p\to J/\psi p$ (from GlueX) allow one to ...

Spontaneous symmetry breaking and vector-meson dominance

Physical Review D, 1977
This article is a continuation of our previous work on the rho-..pi.. puzzle. It examines further consequences of the unification of partial conservation of axial-vector current (PCAC) and vector-meson dominance (VMD) in which the pion is a Goldstone state and the rho is a ''dormant'' Goldstone state.

Probing nucleon strangeness using vector meson dominance

Nuclear Physics A, 1998
Abstract Calculations for N ( π , e + e − ) N reactions are reported to motivate measurements of the nucleon time-like form factors in the φ meson mass region. Using vector meson dominance and a field theoretical model which describes pion photoproduction data, crossing predictions for N ( π , e + e − ) N are detailed exhibiting dramatic,

Vector-Meson Dominance and Gauge Invariance

Physical Review D, 1971
A Lagrangian model of vector-meson dominance similar to that due to Kroll, Lee, and Zumino is considered. It is shown that for a correctly diagonalized and renormalized Lagrangian the conventional diagrams of vector dominance cannot be simply interpreted as Feynman diagrams, and it is not possible to derive the usual current-field identity. However, it

Vector-Meson Dominance in Gauge Theories

Physical Review D, 1973
The off-shell behavior of the current amplitude is studied in the framework of a field -theoretical model of vector-meson dominance based on the spontaneously broken gauge theory. We discuss mainly thc effects of the Higgs scalar mesons, in particular the implications of a straightforward modification of the ordinary algebra of fields.

Consistency problems in vector-meson dominance models

Il Nuovo Cimento A Series 10, 1969
Consistency problems are discussed for models where the electromagnetic field and a neutral vector-meson field are coupled to the same current. It is shown that the conventional formulation of this model is inconsistent if the bare meson mass is infinite.

Modifications of Vector-Meson Dominance in Photoproduction

Physical Review, 1969
It is suggested that a dispersion approach provides an unambiguous formulation of vector-meson dominance. Discussion is given of the problem of subtraction constants and their possible use in explaining the present discrepancy between polarized-photoproduction experiments and conventional formulations.
