The off-shell behavior of the current amplitude is studied in the framework of a field -theoretical model of vector-meson dominance based on the spontaneously broken gauge theory. Consistency problems in vector-meson dominance models

Consistency problems are discussed for models where the electromagnetic field and a neutral vector-meson field are coupled to the same current. It is shown that the conventional formulation of this model is inconsistent if the bare meson mass is infinite.

Modifications of Vector-Meson Dominance in Photoproduction

It is suggested that a dispersion approach provides an unambiguous formulation of vector-meson dominance.
