Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

THE MODELING TECHNOLOGY AND THEORETICAL PRINCIPLES OF CARGOES DELIVERY

open access: yesNauka ta progres transportu, 2010
In the article the theoretical bases of modeling a technology of cargo transportation on the basis of determining the dependence of expenses on cargo transportation time are suggested.

Optimal Cochlear Implant Insertion Vectors [PDF]

open access: yesOtology & Neurotology, 2010
An optimal insertion trajectory during cochlear implantation may be determined from the anatomic relationship between the facial nerve and round window.Cochlear implantation functional outcomes improve with insertion of the implant into the scala tympani. This depends on creating a cochleostomy in the proper position and inserting the electrode along a

Optimal transport of vector measures [PDF]

open access: yesCalculus of Variations and Partial Differential Equations, 2021
AbstractWe develop and study a theory of optimal transport for vector measures. We resolve in the negative a conjecture of Klartag, that given a vector measure on Euclidean space with total mass zero, the mass of any transport set is again zero. We provide a counterexample to the conjecture.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Existence of Solutions for Nonconvex and Nonsmooth Vector Optimization Problems

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2008
We consider the weakly efficient solution for a class of nonconvex and nonsmooth vector optimization problems in Banach spaces. We show the equivalence between the nonconvex and nonsmooth vector optimization problem and the vector variational-like ...

Modified Hematopoietic Stem Cell-Derived Dendritic Cell Therapy Retained Tumor-Inhibitory Function and Led to Regression of Primary and Metastatic Pancreatic Tumors in Humanized Mouse Models

open access: yesVaccines
Background/Objectives: Dendritic cell (DC)-based immunotherapies offer a promising strategy for cancer treatment but are limited by inefficient activation of cytotoxic T cells and, in turn, the host immune system.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

mRNA Vaccines: Current Applications and Future Directions

open access: yesMedComm
Messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines, as a novel class of biotherapeutics, leverage mRNA technology to instruct cells to produce specific antigens, thereby inducing an immune response.
