Non-coaxial superposition of vector vortex beams

open access: yesApplied Optics, 2016
Vector vortex beams are classified into four types depending upon spatial variation in their polarization vector. We have generated all four of these types of vector vortex beams by using a modified polarization Sagnac interferometer with a vortex lens. Further, we have studied the non-coaxial superposition of two vector vortex beams.

Beam splitter of vector vortex beam using S-waveplate

Optics Frontiers Online 2020: Optical Communications and Networks, 2020
Radial polarization (RP) and azimuthal polarization (AP) components in vector vortex beams own orthogonal polarization directions and are different in many functions. Thus, the splitting of AP and RP is required in detailed applications. This work presents to split a vector vortex beam into AP and RP by using a highly commercial S-waveplate.

Investigation of propagation dynamics of truncated vector vortex beams

Optics Letters, 2018
In this Letter, we experimentally investigate the propagation dynamics of truncated vector vortex beams generated using a Sagnac interferometer. Upon focusing, the truncated vector vortex beam is found to regain its original intensity structure within the Rayleigh range.

Generation of THz vortex beam by infrared vector beam rectification

2019 44th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz), 2019
We report on the conversion of an infrared vector beam into THz vortex beams using a ZnTe cubic crystal. We provide a theoretical analysis demonstrating how an infrared vector beam with the azimuthal order l can be transformed into a THz beam endowed with an orbital angular moment content that consists of optical vortices with topological charge ±2l ...

Switchable vector vortex beam generation using an optical fiber

open access: yesOptics Communications, 2010
We present our experimental results on directly transforming a circular-polarized Gaussian beam into linear-polarized vector vortex beams using a two-mode fiber and demonstrate switching between the different 0th-order vector vortex modes excited and ...

Young’s double-slit experiment with vector vortex beams

Optics Letters, 2021
In this Letter, Young’s double-slit experiment with vector vortex beams is investigated. We present the results for various Poincaré–Hopf index beams of this class considering all four major types. Polarization associated morphological changes in the far-field interference pattern are studied both theoretically and experimentally.
