Generation and amplification of vector vortex beams
Laser Resonators, Microresonators, and Beam Control XX, 2018The use of beams carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) has become ubiquitous and topical in a variety of research fields. More recently, there has been a growing interest in exotic OAM carrying beams with spatially variant polarization, so called Poincare sphere beams, with the well known cylindrical vector beams (CVBs) a particular example; for ...

Measuring the nonseparability of vector vortex beams
Physical Review A, 2015Vector beams have the defining property of nonseparable spatial and polarization degrees of freedom and are now routinely generated in the laboratory and used in a myriad of applications. Here we exploit the nonseparability of such beams, akin to entanglement of quantum states, to apply tools traditionally associated with quantum measurements to these ...

Classical entanglement of vector vortex beams
SPIE Proceedings, 2015Vector beams are defined by spatially inhomogeneous states of polarization, that is, the spatial distribution and polarization state of the beam are non-separable. These beams have found interest in a variety of optical fields such as microscopy, interferometry and optical tweezing. It is therefore important to determine the degree to which these beams

Flexible generation of the generalized vector vortex beams
Optics Communications, 2021Abstract We extend the existing vector vortex beams and demonstrate the creation of the generalized vector vortex beams, which is based on the superposition of any pair of orthogonal polarized base vectors with different spiral phases. Besides, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a flexible optical configuration, which modulates the generalized

Polarization conversion at sharp focusing of vector vortex beams
2017 19th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2017We demonstrate the conversion of cylindrically polarized laser beams in an orthogonal polarization state by introducing a high-order vortex phase singularity. Our theoretical and experimental investigations show that increasing the order of the phase singularity leads to effective generation of azimuthal polarization from radial polarization.

Scattering of vector vortex beams: polarization speckles
Asia Communications and Photonics Conference 2016, 2016We generate the vector vortex or polarization singular beams using a polarization sensitive spatial light modulator displaying an on-axis hologram of an optical vortex. The generated vector beams are characterized by polarimetry and then scattered through a ground glass plate.

Focusing properties of vector vortex-bearing beams
Optics and Lasers in Engineering, 2012Abstract Focusing properties of the vector vortex-bearing beams are investigated theoretically by vector diffraction theory. Simulation results show that the intensity distribution in focal region can be altered considerably by adjusting topological charge m and the numerical aperture (NA) of the focusing optical system.

Focusing properties of cylindrical vector vortex beams
Optics Communications, 2018Abstract In this paper, following Richards and Wolf vectorial diffraction theory, the focusing properties of cylindrical vector vortex beams (CVVB) are investigated, and a diffractive optical element (DOE) is designed to spatially modulate the amplitude of the CVVB.
