Evaluating the Efficacy of Organic Approved Fungicides for the Control of Powdery Mildew in Squash [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Powdery mildew grows well in environments with high humidity and moderate temperatures and can be problematic on crops in the Northeast. Cucurbit crops face powdery mildew and often downy mildew on a yearly basis and significant yields losses have been ...

Evaluation of a generic agro-hydrological model for water and nitrogen dynamics (SMCR_N) in the soil–wheat system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Agro-hydrological models have widely been used for optimizing resources use in agriculture for maximum crop growth and minimum environmental consequences.

Forecasting Root Rot Disease through Predictive Microbial Functional Profiling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Predicting soil‐borne disease moves beyond observation with a framework that elevates microbial functional genes into reliable forecasting biomarkers. By coupling targeted qPCR assays for core stress‐response genes with machine learning, this method detects root rot risks in pre‐symptomatic soils with over 80% accuracy.

A REGIONAL ANALYSIS OF VEGETABLE PRODUCTION WITH CHANGING DEMAND FOR ROW CROPS USING QUADRATIC PROGRAMMING [PDF]

open access: yes
The purpose of the study was to ascertain the competitive and complementary potential of fresh vegetable production relative to traditional row crop production using a regional partial equilibrium model.

Pierceable, Water‐Resistant, and Transparent Nanofilm Electrodes Comprising Carbon Nanotubes for Long‐Term Monitoring of Plant Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ultra‐flexible electrodes composed of single‐walled carbon nanotubes on a polymeric substrate exhibit excellent transparency, water resistance, and conformability to hairy surfaces. These non‐invasive nanofilms are easily pierced by trichomes, overcoming the structural barriers in plant electrophysiology.

A Novel GmSIN1‐GmRNF1a‐GmCSN5a Module Determines Soybean Salt Tolerance and Yield Under Saline Soil Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Soybean production is severely threatened by salt stress. This study reveals that the GmSIN1‐GmRNF1a‐GmCSN5a module enhances salt tolerance by stabilizing the GmSIN1 protein. GmRNF1a acts as an E3 ligase to ubiquitinate GmSIN1 for degradation, a process inhibited by GmCSN5a.

Variation in NDVI values and relationship with grain yield in two-rowed winter barley [PDF]

open access: yesRatarstvo i Povrtarstvo, 2018
The simple methods used for indirect biomass determination are recognized as potentially important tools for crop growth prediction. The normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) is widely used for assessing crop biomass, yield, photosynthesis, and ...

The performance of the EU-Rotate_N model in predicting the growth and nitrogen uptake of rotations of field vegetable crops in a Mediterranean environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The EU-Rotate_N model was developed as a tool to estimate the growth and nitrogen (N) uptake of vegetable crop rotations across a wide range of European climatic conditions and to assess the economic and environmental consequences of alternative ...

Scalable Wheat Bran‐Algae Composites for Edible Electronics with Spray‐Coated Food‐Grade Conductive Inks

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A fully edible wheat bran–algae substrate is fabricated through scalable mould‐compression and spray‐coating, enabling robust, food‐grade platforms for sustainable electronics. A chitosan barrier improves water resistance and ink compatibility, while activated‐carbon conductive films form uniform electrodes with Ohmic behaviour.
