Machine learning approach for electric vehicle availability forecast to provide vehicle-to-home services

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2021
In this study, we propose a machine learning (ML) model to predict the availability of an electric vehicle (EV) providing vehicle to home (V2H) services. Electric vehicles are able to store and give back energy directly to consumers and/or the grid using

Vehicle-to-grid service development logic and management formulation

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2019
Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) is regarded as the effective way to reconcile contradictions between an electric power system and electric vehicles (EVs). A lot of research has been carried out to affect this, often based on different technical and trading model ...

Cost-Emission Analysis of Vehicle-to-Grid System [PDF]

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal, 2010
In recent years, electric vehicles (EVs) have been widely accepted by general publics due to their low emissions. Particularly, those EVs which are able to be connected to power grid have earned lots of attention. In this paper, a multilayer framework is newly proposed for vehicle-to-grid operation and cost-emission analysis is carried out based on ...

Modeling the Future California Electricity Grid and Renewable Energy Integration with Electric Vehicles

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
This study focuses on determining the impacts and potential value of unmanaged and managed uni-directional and bi-directional charging of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) to integrate intermittent renewable resources in California in the year 2030.

Structural studies and functional engineering of NanX: an anhydro‐sialic acid transporter from Escherichia coli

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.

Is an Apple an Orange? A Large Language Model Benchmark for Candidate Term Extraction and Subclass Decisions Against Upper Ontologies in Engineering and Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Building machine‐readable vocabularies for materials science is slow, expert‐driven work. This study benchmarks 13 large language models on two of its first steps: finding candidate terms in engineering articles and deciding where they belong in a class hierarchy.
