Driving Control of Autonomous Vehicles with Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication

open access: yesTransactions of the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers, 1990
In this paper, a system of autonomous vehicles with vehicle- to- vehicle communication called a soft-linked vehicle system, is described. Each vehicle has autonomous navigation functions based on dead reckoning, and vehicle-to-vehicle communication for soft-linking.

Design of an On-Glass 5G Monopole Antenna for a Vehicle Window Glass

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In this paper, we propose a design for an on-glass 5G monopole antenna for a vehicle window glass. The proposed antenna consists of a monopole resonator, an inductive line, and a co-planar waveguide (CPW), which can adjust the phase so that the current ...

Biodegradable Wireless Soil Urea Sensor Using Metamaterial Perfect Absorber for Distributed Deployment in Precision Agriculture

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
In this study, we propose a biodegradable wireless soil urea sensor for precision agriculture. The sensor's electromagnetic response varies depending on the urea concentration, allowing the measurement of relative soil urea concentrations by analyzing the time‐transient electromagnetic response.

Machine Learning Enables Inverse Design of Optically Driven Microscopic Metavehicles

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Machine‐learning‐based inverse design is used optimize “metavehicles” — flat microparticles based on metagratings that generate a strong lateral optical force from normally incident light. The optimized design exhibits a force efficiency of ∼88% and a measured propulsion speed in water much higher than previously reported, demonstrating that inverse ...
