Vehicle-to-Vehicle Collaborative Graph-Based Proprioceptive Localization

IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, 2021
Proprioceptive localization (PL) refers to robot or vehicle egocentric localization methods that do not rely on the perception and recognition of external landmarks. These methods depend on a prior map and proprioceptive sensors such as inertial measurement units and/or wheel encoders.

An accurate vehicle positioning algorithm based on vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications

2012 IEEE International Conference on Vehicular Electronics and Safety (ICVES 2012), 2012
In vehicular safety applications, a vehicular positioning algorithm plays a crucial role in preventing road accidents through the perception of a dangerous situation in advance. However, most of vehicular positioning devices, e.g. a low-cost GPS receiver, have too large position error to be used for these applications.

A transputer based vehicle simulator

Microprocessors and Microsystems, 1995
Abstract This paper serves to discuss the constraints and bottlenecks prevalent in a transputer based vehicle simulator prototype which was developed to achieve an acceptable real-time performance with relatively low-cost hardware modules. With the outlined load distribution techniques and an efficient hardware design at the display section ...

A location-based routing algorithm for vehicle to vehicle communication

Proceedings. 13th International Conference on Computer Communications and Networks (IEEE Cat. No.04EX969), 2005
We present a location-based routing algorithm with cluster-based flooding for vehicle to vehicle communication. We consider a motorway environment with associated high mobility and contrast and compare position-based and non-position-based routing strategies, along with a limiting function for flood mechanisms in reactive ad-hoc protocols.

Analysis of Vehicle Surroundings Monitoring System Based on Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication

2014
Using conventional technology an intelligent vehicle system can monitor the area within 200 m of a vehicle using sensors attached to the vehicle. In this study, a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication method is introduced to overcome the limitation of driving area detection.
