Modeling of occupant behavior under lateral vehicle motion (Proposing of control laws based on human posture control mechanism and experimental validation)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2022
To achieve simple and accurate modeling of human-like behavior with the aim of realizing a model-based design (MBD) methodology incorporating vehicle occupants, this research applied a simplified two-mass system for the upper body of a vehicle occupant ...

Integrated controls/structures study of advanced space systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
A cost tradeoff is postulated for a stiff structure utilizing minimal controls (and control expense) to point and stabilize the vehicle. Extra costs for a stiff structure are caused by weight, packaging size, etc. Likewise, a more flexible vehicle should

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Design Framework for Achieving Guarantees with Learning-Based Observers

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
The paper proposes a novel framework for state observer design, in which learning-based observers are incorporated. The aim of the method is to provide a framework, which is able to guarantee the limitation of the observation error, even if the error of ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

A Variable Horizon Model Predictive Control for Magnetorheological Semi-Active Suspension with Air Springs

open access: yesSensors
To improve the characteristics of traditional model predictive control (MPC) semi-active suspension that cannot achieve the optimal suspension control effect under different conditions, a variable horizon model predictive control (VHMPC) method is ...

An Energy Efficient Control Strategy for Electric Vehicle Driven by In-Wheel-Motors Based on Discrete Adaptive Sliding Mode Control

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2023
This paper presents an energy-efficient control strategy for electric vehicles (EVs) driven by in-wheel-motors (IWMs) based on discrete adaptive sliding mode control (DASMC).

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).
