Capturing the Variability in Instantaneous Vehicle Emissions Based on Field Test Data

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2020
Emission models are important tools for traffic emission and air quality estimates. Existing instantaneous emission models employ the steady-state “engine emissions map” to estimate emissions for individual vehicles.

Managing the Diffusion of Low Emission Vehicles

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, 2012
There is significant uncertainty among technology providers, governments, and consumers about which technology will be the vehicle technology of the future. Governments try to stimulate the diffusion of low emission vehicles with diverse policy measures such as purchase price subsidies.

Real-World Vehicle Emissions: A Summary of the Tenth Coordinating Research Council On-Road Vehicle Emissions Workshop [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Air & Waste Management Association, 1997
In April 1999, the Coordinating Research Council sponsored a workshop focusing on our understanding of real-world emissions from motor vehicles. This summary presents the latest information on in-use light- and heavy-duty vehicle tailpipe and evaporative emissions, the effects of fuels on emissions, field programs designed to understand the ...

Current vehicle emission standards will not mitigate climate change or improve air quality

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
The vehicle emissions testing programme was conducted by the UK Department of Transport in 2016 in response to emissions tampering exposed in the Volkswagen (VW) emissions scandal. The programme identified large emissions discrepancies between real-world

Fortifying casein phosphopeptides and Ca in wheat reduces the As, Cd, and Pb bioavailability based on a mouse model: Calcium and phosphate transporters and gut microbiota

open access: yesSoil & Environmental Health
Reducing the oral bioavailability of metal contaminants including As, Cd, and Pb in foods can protect human health. Studies showed reduced metal bioavailability with elevated Ca and Fe intake; however, the effectiveness of enhancing food Ca and Fe ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
