Experimental Research on Regulated and Unregulated Emissions from E20-Fuelled Vehicles and Hybrid Electric Vehicles

open access: yesAtmosphere
Ethanol as a renewable fuel has been applied in fuel vehicles (FVs), and it is promising in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). This work aims to investigate the emission characteristics of ethanol applied in both FVs and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles ...

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Research progresses of CO oxidation catalysts with superior SO_2 resistance

open access: yes能源环境保护
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a common air pollutant in industrial flue gas and motor vehicle exhaust, and its excessive emissions pose a serious threat to human health. Currently, catalytic oxidation technology is widely used for CO emission control. However,

Acute caffeine treatment protects the developing retina from ischemia‐induced cell death

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Caffeine reduces cell death in the developing retina under ischemia (OGD). This effect does not involve BDNF upregulation or antioxidant pathways (NRF2/VEGF). Neuroprotection occurs mainly through adenosine A2A receptor antagonism, decreasing glutamate release and excitotoxicity, highlighting caffeine's potential as an acute neuroprotective agent in ...

Research advances in anti-water/sulfur/ammonium nitrate poisoning of ultra-low temperature denitrification catalysts

open access: yes能源环境保护
The strict control of nitrogen oxides (NO_x) is an urgent task for improving China′s air quality, and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) with ammonia represents the dominant method for treatment of NO_x exhaust from industries.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Vehicle Inspection Policy and Emission Analysis in Kuwait [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Conference on Civil Infrastructure and Construction (CIC 2020), 2020
Technical vehicle inspection centers are widespread in Kuwait. All vehicles should pass the test every 2 years if not older than 6 years or every 1 year for other vehicles. This study provided an insight into the data collected from test centers and the emission test utilized in Kuwait.
