Vehicle Schedule Simulation with AnyLogic
2010 12th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation, 2010This paper discusses simulation of the vehicle schedule with time windows. The simulation model is developed in AnyLogic simulation environment. A short overview of AnyLogic structure and scope is provided. A detailed description of a conceptual model with focus on input and output data is given.

A Dual Heuristic for Vehicle Scheduling
Journal of the Operational Research Society, 1982A heuristic method is used to solve the vehicle scheduling problem by maintaining local optimality whilst approaching the feasible region. Tests with published problems show that the technique gives results comparable with the best published algorithms.

An overview on vehicle scheduling models
Public Transport, 2009The vehicle scheduling problem, arising in public transport bus companies, addresses the task of assigning buses to cover a given set of timetabled trips with consideration of practical requirements such as multiple depots and vehicle types as well as further extensions.

Vehicle Scheduling on a Graph Revisited
2012We consider a generalization of the well-known Traveling Salesman Problem, called the Vehicle Scheduling Problem (VSP), in which each city is associated with a release time and a service time. The salesman has to visit each city at or after its release time. Our main results are three-fold.

Vehicle Scheduling with Time Constraint
1995We present methods for solving the vehicle scheduling problem with time constraint. Such problem consists of minimizing the costs related to the assignment of vehicles for performing a set of short trips. The vehicles are located at a single depot and one must consider the additional constraint that no vehicle can be away from the depot longer than a ...

Vehicle Scheduling -- A Case Study
Operational Research Quarterly (1970-1977), 1972An application of vehicle scheduling techniques to the planning and operation of medical specimen collection services is described and a decision-making procedure suggested for use in this problem ...

Vehicle Scheduling Problem on Trees
2013In this paper, we study a subproblem of vehicle scheduling problem, which is in general strongly NP-hard. In this problem, the road map is a tree, the release times and the handling times of all the tasks are zero, the deadlines of all the tasks are all the same, and the vehicle has to return to the root finally. We aim to find an optimal schedule such

Scheduling of Vehicles in Transportation Networks
2012In this paper we consider online vehicle scheduling problems for different network topologies under various objective functions: minimizing the maximum completion time, minimizing the largest delay, and minimizing the sum of completion times and present a number of provable approximate solutions.
